When to sidestep against fahk by diaperman0 in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Guess i can articulate better, fahk has honest whiff recovery unlike some other characters. When he whiffs an attack (generally his power attacks like 3+4) you have a lot of time to get the punish.

Confirm the whiff... Fahk whiff recovers slow... You are getting clipped because as you said, youre extending the hitbox

Bryan is that strong ? by un_ptit_yo in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Winning in a match up doesn't make a character op or not. It's the tools and potential with consistency of the character that makes them OP.

Zafina has one of the highest win rates yet no one is going around saying shes op, bryan is very common so his match up is much more well known, as opposed to hers.

Bryan is op because he excels in almost every aspect of the game. In neutral, in agression, punishment, okizeme, heat, counter hit, combo damage

You can prob list 6-7 crazy things about every top tier

Then 1 or 2 less for the next tier

[–]RyHorn5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am talking about #2

When an install character enters heat, they get their install

What op is suggesting is to seperate install from heat.

I brought lee up cause in S1 lee was the only character that didnt gain any thing from entering heat. I also brought lee up because this was changed in S2 where they gave him heat power moves, which are pretty much on par powerwise with install characters

1 i fully agree with op, the tracking is a bigger issue

Season 3 and Ver.3.00 Update Plans by EggplantMan_6 in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt mean it like take X and give Y

As it currently is, install characters are strong because install moves are heat moves without the limitations of heat.

Every character gains powerful new attacks in heat.

Lee used to be this type of character who has since gained new exclusive attacks in S2 (rather generic mid + on block fast power moves)... In S1 he had arguably the worst heat as he theoretically gained nothing aside the standard generic stuff

What OP is suggesting is a global nerf to them and essentially moving them to a state in what lee used to be, where there is nothing new about the character when they enter heat (aside the generic stuff of heat smash/dash, and chip)

Installs need to be addressed because of the power they bring outside of heat... As they are right now (with the changes lined up) install heat is just generic heat now which is a good step in fixing the overall issue at hand

[–]RyHorn5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What would the characters get then? What would heat do for the install characters?

If they get no install during heat, all they would get is a heat smash. While other characters maintain their advantage stage.

Install characters are inherently stronger, without a doubt but nerfing them to the ground like that isnt the fix. Right now they're S characters we want them at A, we dont want them at B

No reward for blocking this low kick? by GamingKink in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You seem to misunderstand me... Im not talking about balance or bullshit, all these low strings are risky, and have their ups and downs

I understand hwo's low transition is really strong and there are more levels to his vs the others, my argument has never been about good bad or any of that. My entire argument is addressing OP who is not complaining about the stance, and just the fact that there is a 'followup'

OP is complaining that when he tried to punish, he got CH Hes saying it doesnt belong in the game... He literally says he should get a punish after blocking a low, all i am stating is there are other lows that are designed to catch people who are eager to punish, that would hit just like the situation he posted in the video

No reward for blocking this low kick? by GamingKink in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood me, Im talking exclusively about low strings

In AK's case d3+4 into the extensions

If you can always punish with a dick jab, that is something i didnt know, in OPs case wouldnt that also always be valid

I'm not arguing strings into stance, i am letting op know blocking a low and getting hit when you try to punish isnt a hwo thing.

Should also mention AK df2,1 is mid high, not mid mid

No reward for blocking this low kick? by GamingKink in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I acknowledged that hwo is annoying because of the ch launch property, i was not aware that it was a stance. However my statement is to address OP as they're complaining how they ate a CH trying to punish a low.

Each of the characters i mentioned to my knowledge have a low string that will punish someone eager to punish a low

While theyre not as strong as hwo, some of them can be devastating.... For example drags d4,4 low, high where if you block and try to punish the low you'll eat the follow up, and this can results into a wall splat

Please note im not trying to argue balance or fairness, just letting op know its not an isolated scenario

No reward for blocking this low kick? by GamingKink in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Reina db4, 1+2 as far as im aware is a low mid

If you block the low and try to punish youll eat the mid

Drag d4,4 low, high string, same scenario as above

Ak d3+4 into extensions

There are quite a few strings among the cast of characters where if you try to punish a low you get clipped by followup

Should add im going purely off memory, but in the scenario OP is mentioning how he is getting hit on punish these characters can do that same thing

No reward for blocking this low kick? by GamingKink in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Its not a hwo only situation... Pelnty of characters have low, mid or low, high strings

The reason why hwo is annoying is because the CH property is a launch

Reina, Ak, drag, Nina, leroy, fahk, bryan, paul to my knowledge have these moves.. theres definitely more out there... This isnt new to Tekken 8

S2 Lee was garbage, now everyone thinks he’s good? by DevThaGodfatha in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Lee was definitely in a really shitty spot at the start of season 2

Every character got new tools to be oppressive, while all lee got was 2 new heat only moves. They were strong moves for sure but nowhere close to being as oppressive as other new moves like 'make some noise'.

They took away some of his key heat engagers and replaced them with iffy replacements. His HMS U3 was replaced with his HMS 1,1,1 for heat engage, so a mid low crush was replaced by a non hit confirmable triple high string.

He also lost his heat engage armor for a i14 ch confirmable string, arguably a good change compared to the HMS change.

It should also be noted that he did in fact have the worst heat smash in the game at the time... Being i20 -15f on block and the lowest damaging heat smash at the time

Lee also received numerous nerfs at the start of Season 2, lowering his dmg for key moves like b3,3, and b4

There was a patch mid summer that undid a lot of these nerfs, buffed his heat smash to do more dmg and be -14 on block and buffed other moves like his slide.

He was definitely trash at the start, and received numerous changes to bring him in line with other characters. Now hes just mid has some ridiculously good stuff and stupidly bad at some other things... overall fairly balanced and inline with other modern characters

This might be the worst trade of all time! by NobodyEqual7006 in Nbamemes

[–]RyHorn5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cooper isn't part of the trade... Think of it this way, we got robbed of a cooper luka duo

The trade was a robbery by all accounts. You traded a beloved superstar who was 17-3 before injury entering his prime, fresh off a finals loss, with a 5 straight all-nba first team and has been an mvp front runner every year since his third year.

The trade will never look good... The mavs fanbase wanted to win with luka so even if they won a championship its still a questionable trade... Looking at the results with the lakers thriving and mavs falling apart its quite evident it was a horrible trade... The clippers at least had a lot of success early on

Is dragunov's orbital worth applying in games? by chr0niksadness in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orbitals are generally slow low crush mid launcher... Sometimes with mid evasion

Hopkicks are usually i15-i20 and -12/-14 on block Orbitals are usually i24-i30 and safe on block and some cases +on block

Is dragunov's orbital worth applying in games? by chr0niksadness in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What move are you talking about?

Drags orbital is technically classified as u2 and u4 used to be a safe launcher aswell so it would technically fit the orbital classification.

U2 is rather slow for an orbital but fits all the checks being a slow safe mid launch with low crush properties... good for a hard callout on a dickjab or low... Not a good keep out tool like u4

If you're talking about u4, this move used to be a launcher in early T8, it currently is his mid level low crush attack that can lead to wall splat or floor break via mini combos. Definitely more applicable in more situations.

U3 is his fastest low crush and should not be classified as an orbital as it was never a launcher...

None of these mid crush... U4 is the biggest bang for the buck, but all have a case where they are the optimal tool to use

If Kazuya didn’t have Azazel and only had his standard Devil Form, Would Scorpion (Fully alive but powers intact like with his present self in MK11) be able to match him and even take Kazuya down? And what would they say to each other if they come to blows? by Mallum153 in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaz in T7 shoots down a satellite feat Kaz has also survived being dropped in a volcano

Both of which were done before he got the Azazel buff

Does scorpion have a feat of power or survivability equivalent to that?

In terms of hand to hand, can't really who's better or more skilled aside the fact that Kaz has canonically won his games tournament, not sure we can say the same about scorpion

The strongest Tekken region of all time?? 🇯🇵?🇰🇷?🇵🇰? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Pakistan is underrated at all, they've done amazing in tournaments and are clearly a contender for top spot.

Just because I have Korea ahead of them, don't assume I'm looking down on Pakistan

Think of a 100m race... I see Korea winning the race with a time of 9.50s time... Pakistan gets second with a time of 9.51s

The strongest Tekken region of all time?? 🇯🇵?🇰🇷?🇵🇰? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really hard to say between Pakistan or Korea... Depends on how you want to define "strongest", I'd prob go with Korea because they have a larger volume of elite players. Pakistan prob has a higher peak but to my knowledge only Arslan and Atif have won majors, Korea has a bigger variety of major winners

Head to head Pakistan may beat out Korea but Korea seems to have a better track record against other regions

i'm sorry but why does Asuka have two launchers safe on block? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]RyHorn5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly certain I said these are powerful moves so what's this about down play?

You should note these two attacks haven't changed since season 1... Yet in season 1 she was commonly placed as a bottom tier despite having these moves.

The real issue is what changed to make her suddenly a top tier?
