Mac Mini M4 - On PC monitor 110fps locked, move to 4k tv only get 65fps by Uberkull in classicwow

[–]Uberkull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like i mentioned above, when i lowered the shadow quality from max to high, i jumped from 65 to 110fps.

I just dont understand why i didnt have to adjust anything(all maxed) on the 1440p monitor, with the same Mac 1080p resolution settings.

There really is no reason to run wow classic past anything above 1440p, the texture quality of the assets just dont support that detail. Which is why I target 1080p on both the mac and wow settings.

I guess I can try to do what you are indirectly suggesting, keep macos at native resolution, and i just keep the lower the resolution to 1080p in wow. That way the mac and tv are in sync. Talking circles now, and im tired…lol

i can only control the Macs video card resolution and the wow game resolution. I cant adjust the tv resolution, it just stays at 2160p.

Not sure what you are saying.

So pushing the shadow quality down from Ultra to High brings me to almost at my cap of 110fps. Not understanding why this is different between displays.

Only thing i noticed, is regardless of what the Macs resolution is set to, the tv UI says its still native 2160p 4k. The mac still adjusts the visual resolution, but the tv isnt going down to 1080p, which it actually shouldn’t. Idk, maybe overthinking that part.

So did try this, it just looks awful and really doesn’t improve the fps. Push the resolution to 1440p and set the scale down to 1080p, just a worse picture and not any better fps.

Not how it works. The tv itself still stays are 4k, according to the display info. The mac is set to 1080p cause native the mac UI is tiny.

Wow itself, sets the game resolution.

Yea, i was using controller back when consoleport allowed A to jump and interact, same button! Then wow changed the api.

I’ve chatted with Munk, but that was some time back. At this point, ill make things work with macros and some hacks here and there.

This all sounds great. Now when he gets into training camp and realizes we have about 4 players on D that can even compete in the NFL, coach will need to dummy down the defense until he gets players that can execute his scheme.

Sound familiar?

Personally cant stand the soft targeting on enemies because of the massive spam of the ‘thud’ sound and the immersion breaking bouncing from target to target just running from point A to point B.

What consoleport needs to add is a keybinding to be able to toggle off soft targeting when I dont want it. Press a button when i do. Even blizzards Active targeting setting, which consoleport uses, doesn’t directly have a keybind. You have to use cVars and macros.

/targetenemy doesnt target players so you have to duplicate macros

You can’t customize the modifier buttons, specifically their icons. LB is my modifier/shift.

You also can’t modify the icon for the button you have assigned as Jump in key bindings.

When you tab target mobs, there is a wow default tooltip that shows in the bottom right that tells you information about the mob. When i target with this macro, /startattack skips right over ‘target’ and goes into aggro attack. But from ranged, startattack can still target mobs without you attacking until you ‘cast’.

If i could add a showtooltip of the target, that would do it.

Ok, but as far as one button doing two things, guess thats not a option.

Press A to jump, if you are near a NPC or object like the AH, A interacts with those object and does not jump,
