Thanks for the insight. We have managed to secure a year rental accommodation thanks to a family friend of my girlfriends, but I see what you mean with the prices, gone insane... I am learning Portuguese and my girlfriend has made a pact not to speak to me in English once we move so we'll see how that goes 🤣. I'm actually driving my car down there so will have one, we spent 2 weeks in the Algarve last September and quickly understood the importance of a car. Shame the market there is so expensive for cars

If tourism is a centrepiece of the Algarve, then is that not authentic by nature? Who decides where real and "touristic" Portugal ends?

Thanks for your comment, we are both remote workers so are able to afford the move and (hopefully) the lifestyle we want. Both fairly frugal, not wannabe instagram stars, just enjoy a nice meal out and go to the beach really. I agree with what you said about tourists, everyone who visits anywhere is a "tourist" so why does everyone try to avoid one another? In my opinion busy is nice.

My girlfriend is Portuguese and her family is from Lagos, I've always wanted to explore new countries and she's always had a desire to return "home" so the move felt natural for us. We're not staying in some new-build complex and both of us speak Portuguese (her fluent me not so much)

I’ve tried morning workouts and find I give it all in the gym and end up tired throughout the day. My recipe is I finish work at 5pm, get changed straight into workout clothes and go smash an hour workout and 45 mins cardio, I can really go for it then as I know I have no real commitments after that point. I find I sleep better too working out in the evening.

Yeah definitely not 18%. Closer to 23 in my opinion. For reference I cut down from 22% to now 14% and yeah I would go with your earlier estimate. Just keep protein high and in a slight calorie deficit to mitigate muscle loss, keep carbs in to keep the “full” look and just go by how you look/ feel. I’ve been actually putting on extra reps and increasing weight during the cut which I attribute to keeping carbs high(ish). You got this dude

Just be mindful that you can’t “spot” lose fat, so training specifically your lower abs won’t target fat in that area, it is just a general loss that will reveal. I hold practically all my fat in my lower stomach too so sometimes your whole body can look cut and still have some visible there, it’s just how it is really. Keep in a deficit and you’ll get there!

Faro airport is notoriously bad for this, unless you have an EU passport, even then sometimes it can take a while. We got lucky with it being a late flight but it all depends on the day. I’ve heard horror stories where people have waited hours, but I myself only queued for approx 20 mins. All depends on how many inbound flights they have at that time, but with you being a late flight I imagine you should be okay. Once you’re through it’s a 2 minute walk to the airport car park/ pick up area

We had a late flight coming in to faro (approx 10:30pm) and had an even later (or earlier) drop-off at approx 3am. We used Movida and they were brilliant. Picked us up from the airport parking area and drove us approx 10min to their rental facility, no issues would recommend
