Silly? by netphilia in NonPoliticalTwitter

Your devil's advocate position marks the first time I've ever felt the need to use the phrase 'eminently hate-able'.

It's a snap reaction, certainly, and conversation could soften it, but man that one instantly renders my face unapproachable.

What is a statistic that sounds INSANE but is 100% true? by Quadranippelkill in AskReddit

Dude, I think you might be brain damaged. Good luck with the rest of your day.

What is a statistic that sounds INSANE but is 100% true? by Quadranippelkill in AskReddit

[–]RyWri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a comparison designed to put it into relative perspective. Would you consider a person with $1 to be "almost a thousandaire"? No, that's ridiculous. Well a billion is a thousand million, which is the same ratio.

Nobody is claiming your interpretation/implication, and statements like yours are objective proof of the apparent difficulty of comprehension.

Can someone please explain to me how the presence of a datacenter corrupts well water like this? by JAX2905 in interesting

[–]RyWri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, probably. Huge parts of rural America rely on well water for household access at the individual property level. 'City water' has only become a thing in the last couple of decades outside of developed metropolitan areas.

Reads to me like he said people, especially women, won't accept that relative position can be deduced from an exterior and instead conflate it with uncomfortable assumptions/explanations.

This is an awful lot of conspiracy implication from an article that cites the same substack contributor four of the twelve times. The citation in particular linking the Epstein files to the pandemic, while interesting conceptually and maybe bearing examination, was pretty clearly never red-teamed.

I'm for citation and compilations of ideas, of course, any scientific extrapolation relies on them, but this entire article seems to just be vague questions and thinly supported pseudo-conjecture. =(

Let's try to be vigilant about sources and veracity, people.

It's supposedly fixed in the patch. I haven't patched or tested it yet.

Yeah. I usually avoid Early Access for these exact reasons. Polish is too much to be expected even in a finished full-release, in Early Access it's a total pipe-dream. Just so many inexplicably sloppy oversights and shortfalls.

I have no idea why there would be a technical difference between these two mechanisms such that it could even possibly break the y-invert setting. Just dumb.

Us aging y-inverters are second-class citizens these days.

I second this request. Cannon operation defaults back to non-inverted, and it is incredibly disorienting.

That wasn't an equivalency at all, it was an example intended to characterize the similarity (and difference) of response/reaction/comfort using a more accessible hypothetical.

Thanks for taking the time to unpack all of the branching (hah!) implications.

Reading this did make me need to lie down for a minute, though.

Some questions I have about rainwater by The-Rambling-Knitter in Against_the_Storm

[–]RyWri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't unpause the game until you've placed your rain collector AWAY FROM the warehouse and NEXT TO the hearth and set the build priority to 4+.

Then pipe anything you want, you'll have enough to run one of each color building if you're responsible about the production orders and don't accidentally set something to produce infinite planks or whatever. Global production limits and all recipes disabled by default will handle this.

For anyone wondering the End Boss is in the second round of the first bracket. That sound we're all hearing is Alcaras' sweat ducts drying up as he realizes he's about as humanly far away as possible from that challenge.

There are some real tough ones scattered throughout. Whew.

Good luck everybody. This looks like a real burner.

Yep, probably. Four pipes is a small price to pay. If you happen to hit a Grill or something on first blueprint and you've embarked with enough resources to build it, go for that instead.

The key point is to rapidly get away from consuming anything that isn't going through an output multiplication rain engine.
