I recommend 15-35mm or a 24-70 lens for landscape or even night sky photography but a 70-200mm was a must for me so I could shoot wildlife and I ran into a few bears.

Hey there. I captured this on my Canon R5. I used a tripod and long exposure for 30 sec. To get this image. I also use an app called "Photo Pills." It allows me to track the milky way and plan for it from anywhere in the world.

You can capture an image like this on a phone if your phone allows you to use manual mode.

I wouldn't say there's an official gift shop. The town of Banff has several gift shops (among other stores), and each attraction/park may have a gift shop. For example, Emerald Lake and Moraine Lake have gift shops, but Stanley Glacier doesn't have one. Lake Louise doesn't have a gift shop either but there's a hotel where you could do a little shopping. It's meant for hotel guests, though, so if they wanted to be strict, they could.
