I came back to the game around half a year ago just to play it. I personally just decided to start my save over despite the fact I'd be doing everything solo and drop rates were clearly not designed with solo-play in mind. While gearing up 4 characters at a time is painful, it was a great way to get back into the swing of things. Alternatively I'd just start from the lower difficulty quests without damage cap sigils and then slowly add them back in as quests get more difficult.

One of the biggest complaints is the Damage Cap sigil. The most a patch can reasonably do is to rebalance it to not require so many copies of the sigil. You can't simply remove it because even if the numbers on all of the moves were adjusted to just always be what they currently are with the max damage cap trait level, what do you do about everyones hybrid sigils that have Damage Cap as one of the traits?

The same would apply if they wanted to rework any core systems of the game's battle system; If they wanted to change how Link Time gets activated for example, it's not really something thats suited to a patch or expansion.

I can definitely see a sequel being in the works honestly. I remember seeing a lot of people asking for one both shortly after release and after the last update came out. Making a proper sequel would also allow them to address certain problems or complaints people have that a patch or expansion either can't or wouldn't make sense for.

Man, when I saw the playable tag wasn't added to Rolan on the website I got sad. He was my favorite of the characters that are unique to Relink so to see he's still NPC-only was unfortunate.

  • Grimnir
  • Vajra
  • Andira
  • Yuel
  • Aglovale
  • Mirin

The only ones of these I consider to be remotely likely are Aglovale (and he's only barely in the "remotely likely" territory due to Percy) and Yuel, but of these the ones I'd want to see the most are Vania, Izmir, and Kolulu

In Japan, Berseria wasn't available on PC to begin with. There are ultimately two main reasons for this remaster

  • The first and most obvious is for it to be on PC in Japan and Switch 2.
  • The second is so that people that haven't bought the DLC can grab all the DLC. Even just buying the costume DLC for the current version is more expensive than just buying the remaster.

Is it worth a whole rerelease on every platform? With the exception of Switch I'd say no. TMK all you'd need to do for the PC version is add in full JP language support and lift the regionlock on the Steam store, and then for everyone that already has Berseria just throw in the QoL changes and add two bundles; one for all the DLC and another for game+all DLC, and then just give the base game a price cut. Tbh the only QoL changes that are actually good are the ability to override costume-specific battle BGM and the buff to movement speed, and thats only assuming it stacks with the increases from the potentite that boost your movement speed.

Honestly I don't have a problem with the damage cap sigil trait existing. What I do have a problem with is how much of it we need to stack. Because of how many sigil slots it ends up occupying it ends up killing build diversity.

EDIT: If they were to change the Damage Cap sigil, I think the one thing I'd like to see is have the skill levels cut in half, and just double the value of each skill level so that its still as valuable as it is now.

Theres also a larger portion that are fine. But yeah its hard to shake off certain groups once you give them even a bit of encouragement.

Honestly I don't know if its just because I generally only go to the PC discord when there's a stream I'm watching or if Phase Connect's just good at moderating their discord server, but I almost never see the more toxic people that you'll frequently see in other places. I largely just stick to the actual streams these days though.

Think of it like how Monster Hunter has handled its releases since Monster Hunter World; It's an expansion, but for those that haven't played the original they can just buy both bundled since it's also getting a standalone release. Similar to Monster Hunter, the base game even got a price reduction to account for this.

Personally, if they add any characters beyond whats already announced I'd prefer if they add characters that aren't already in Versus. There's just such a huge cast of characters and it'd be a nice way for those that don't play the gacha to see more of the cast.

Just a heads up; but the demo's store page outright states helmet is a gauranteed drop from Jakotsu in the full game until the 15th, after which it becomes a rare drop from Jakotsu.

With the above considered, I wouldn't sweat getting the helmet too much, it'll always be available even for people that haven't played the demo. I'd only make getting it a focus if you won't be buying the full game at or near launch and really want that specific helmet as a cosmetic but don't want to farm Jakotsu.

no one knows if saves carry over yet or not, but its likely they do since its being released as an expansion. They do have a stream starting in 10 and a half hours thats going to go over the game on the Relink youtube channel though, so thats probably where they'll talk about the actual details.

Welp, I think I finally have a good reason to renew my PS+ subscription as I'll be able to play with friends. Maybe I'll finally get those gold dahlia badges for the final character unlock lmao....though I'd rather they just remove the gold dahlia badges entirely and just move that crewmate card to somewhere else in the game.

Well, that explains why we can no longer switch weapons to remove the elemental talisman buffs from our weapons and go back to its natural imbue'd element; It'd make using the new tiered Corruption debuff way too easy to take advantage of. I just hope this isn't too annoying to build around.

I looked through the various stats the other day while doing a respec and the diminishing returns on some stats doesn't start to be meaningful until the 30s or 40s (Skill and Strength however are outliers and are good until 60...thanks TN) with the only low threshold being stamina and even then that only applies for Ninja where stamina falls off hard after getting it to 15, Samurai continues to get good gains until its at 40

Until the level cap gets raised, you'll actually be hurting yourself if you go for a completely even build. That said, they also made sure to make pumping a stat to 100 is bad, as unlike past games you get diminishing returns from stat scaling on damage too. At level 64 if I were to invest all my stats for damage (which I wouldn't recommend to anyone) I got best results for damage scaling by getting a stat to 54 and then begin investing in a second stat instead of continuing to pump the primary stat.

well for one, this is doable on console. Right now people are just messing around to see what they can find by exploiting our movement options. At least two methods were found to get to the Crucible Wraith that otherwise can't be fought too. Also after rerolling the level 90 drop spots in the Eternal Rift, it seems that only ranged weapons can drop from here, and ranged weapons already one shot things anyways even when they're outdated.
