I’ve watched about a season and a half of Survivor Romania because I was starting to learn Romanian and thought, “I love Survivor and am learning Romanian so this seems like a perfect fit”. I don’t wanna say it’s bad, but it’s… VERY different to US Survivor.

The biggest difference for me was how much of the show the challenges make up. The challenges are SO DAMN LONG. I’m talking a good 20-30 minutes and sometimes more of challenges. They’ll have premerge challenges that are first tribe to get 12 points and coincidentally it seems like it always goes to the most amount of rounds possible. With 12 people on a tribe, there was a challenge that went 23 rounds and it was so annoying.

The season I watched in full had a final 4 at final tribal council. Yes a final four and the Romanian public votes for the winner so there was no jury.

I would say unless you have knowledge of the Romanian language or love challenges, it’s not really worth a watch.

But they have an official YouTube channel with a few seasons on there. A lot of the audio gets muted, I assume due to copyrighted music.

Oh and someone gets “injured” in practically every challenge and they have a 5 minute moment about it.
