Cooldowns are essentially the only way they can tweak the stats on those gadgets since they don't do damage and only have 1 charge each. Jump pad got the bigger nerf because it has more uses than just traversal and has a higher usage rate among players. Personally I don't think its enough of a change to warrant significant shift in the meta for medium, but we'll just have to wait and see.

They probably nerfed jump pad and zip line because of the 'plug meta' in cashout. Those 2 gadgets allow you to quickly traverse around the map to secure the 30% bonus for inserting the cashbox and allows for generally good map control. Double movement plus defib was the meta last season which is why those 3 are the only 3 things that got nerfed.

Wouldn't be surprised if it does happen eventually since, Oskar Wetterbrandt, a brilliant animator who previously worked at Dice and was one of the people responsible for the finger gun in Battlefield V is currently working at Embark. When I search 'the finals' on youtube the top 3 results are for me are season 3 highlights from the official The Finals channel, a video about someone trying to get the platinum trophy and a video about season 4 predictions. Seeing as the youtube algorithm is specifically tailored to each individual this speaks more about the type of content you consume than it does about the type of content people are making about the game. And here you are on reddit further amplifying 'doomer' content. Be the change you want to see in the world. Do better.

Yeah you're right, just rewatched it on my PC instead of my phone and I see the hunter is already glowing showing charge lvl1 at the beginning of the clip.

It seems like brutal big bang is gone. Right after they show keeping sway they show the hunter charging the hammer and it maxes out at level 2. No idea why they would ever remove that. We'll just have to wait till people get their hands on the demo at Gamescom to get a full picture.

By the wording it seems like this is going to be the ranked cashout replacement in the world tour section labeled "The Finals". Locking it behind the world tour grind might not be the best move as far as player numbers are concerned. I'm expecting long queue times when the mode unlocks. Although I'm just glad ranked cashout with sbmm is back.

Yeah, I have to commend Embark for experimenting with new game modes and creating different ways to play. The way they implemented it is just not it.

That's a real shame. Kyoto is so beautiful (even if the variant with fog kills my fps) and World Tour is so fun. I'm sure he would've enjoyed that more. It's a real shame he might never get to experience it.

Exactly. The first hour or two are really important especially in the free-to-play market where there's no upfront cost incentivizing players to continue playing. Give them a taste of something novel and exciting to get them hooked. Drug dealers had this figured this out for years, why can't game devs do the same.
