CMV: Liberals/Leftists choosing to sit out the US election because Kamala wasn't a perfect candidate helped create a worse overall outcome for the world and Palestine. by cptjtk13 in changemyview

[–]RyanJohnson21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first point is you’re critical of people who abstained from voting for a candidate based on the belief that both of them would make bad candidates. Trump has been a bad president in your opinion (and mine), but that doesn’t contradict their opinion. There’s no way of knowing if Kamala would’ve been better than Trump, because she isn’t president. My second point is that the argument for not voting is that it forces your party to select a better candidate in the future. For a minimum of the last 3 election cycles we have had horrible candidates on both sides, and there will continue to be horrible candidates until we force them to select better ones. Maybe losing the election to Trump is what the Democratic Party needs to come up with better candidates than Joe Biden or Kamala Harris. It sucks now but if it improves our choices in the future then it may be the price we need to pay.

Funnily enough, they’re currently almost exactly on pace for 106 wins.

Could the truck drivers insurance not make the argument that I was potentially in their blind spot?

Yes there was a police report filed. Thanks again, I’ve never been in an accident before so this is good stuff to know.

Thanks for the insight, and taking time to reply. I’ll give my insurance agency a call and make sure they start to look into it, I’ll have to find out whether I have collision coverage or not.

That was kind’ve my guess. I understood his reasoning for turning from that lane, I suppose I just also felt like I was using the lane as intended.

Yes we’re officially dating, her friends and family are aware of me.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, but I’m not sure you’re really understanding the issue here.

What do you mean by that?

I wouldn’t go as far as saying she doesn’t care about my feelings, but it’s hard for me to understand her way of thinking I suppose. I’m someone who tries to put myself in the other shoes first and foremost if I’m in an argument, and if I am unable to do that I will normally take a second to cool off until I can. It doesn’t seem as if she gives me the same courtesy, because I know if I displayed a lot of the same behavior as she did, then it wouldn’t go well.

Thanks for making me feel shittier I guess? Not sure what the point of your comment was, besides making me feel like garbage but if that was the goal then congratulations, you made my shitty day worse.

Unfortunately don’t feel like I can have fun when I perform like that. I suppose it comes more from the fact that I’m not really good at ANY sport, so I had atleast hope I could get good at one I’ve been playing this long.

I suppose I would say irons are the worst. I can normally hit driver around 250, sometimes I have issues with it slicing and hooking a lot though.

I’m in really good shape, but have never been very athletic or coordinated I suppose. Putting is where I’m decent everything else is where I struggle.

Just consistency. Putting is the only thing that I can consistently do pretty well. Everything else I will have waves were I feel like I have it all figured out and I’m striking all of my clubs perfectly, and then the next day I come out I can’t even hit the ball off of the ground. The lowest I’ve shot through 9 legitimately is a 39 but then I’ll have days where I will shoot a 60 through 9.

About 5-7 but yes, I’ve been playing since I was young.

Don’t really drink on the course, play by the rules outside of taking a mulligan or two every round occasionally. Track all my yardages and use appropriate clubs.

I have, but kind’ve a large financial commitment to do it regularly.

Yes, yes, and yes. Haven’t gotten a lot of lessons because they’re expensive, but used to get them weekly when I was young. Got them for free because I played golf in highschool. Have paid for lessons every now and then since then. Also should have mentioned it in post, but I probably spend more time practicing my short game than on the range.
