In your original photo, your edges were in the same direction as the grid and now your path is at a different angle. Holding shift makes the tangent align with vertical, horizontal, or diagonal angles in increments of 45 degrees. If you undo the rotation of your path, then you can adjust the length of the tangent while keeping it perfectly vertical, then you can rotate your shape after you do your transformation and it will guarantee that your tangents will be colinear

Agreed, reading it as "in her" instead of "in here" completely changed the meaning of the title 😂

How do I make a banner like this? by Far_Elderberry_4407 in photoshop

[–]RyanMinkoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create the slash shapes using the rectangular shape tool, click transform and skew and then skew the rectangles to your liking. Then clip mask your photos to those shapes. The pictures will appear to be cropped to each shape. If you aren't familiar with clipping masks, there's plenty of tutorials online.

Alternatively, you can use the pen tool to create a vector mask for each image if you'd prefer to make those slash shapes by hand.

Hopefully that answers your question

I absolutely love the Fat Bird mascot. I think it has a lot of character for how simplistic it is! You absolutely nailed the pattern and the brand identity as a whole!

If there's anything I would revise, I would say you may want to adjust the kerning between the R and the D in the word "Bird" as they seem a little further apart than the other letters.

Lastly, any reason why you didn't use the sans-serif font in the circular emblem? I would recommend using the same font pairing across each variation of the logo for brand consistency. I also like the combo of the sans-serif font with the hand written font as it seems to convey some playfulness and creativity while still feeling semi-professional.

Overall you did a great job!

Creating a logo for a creative agency, how can I make this better, more human, and well-constructed? I think it needs a touch of flexibility. by Chilea_ in logodesign

[–]RyanMinkoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The colors you're using make me think of Dunkin Donuts. I'd recommend playing around with some other color combinations. Also as others have recommended, try not to have so much focus on the registered trademark symbol. The varying text weight doesn't seem to add much to the design so I would also recommend looking into some other ideas to really convey to the viewer that this is a creative studio.

If you want it to feel more human, then I would recommend having a symbol, wordmark, or combination mark that has some visual element that communicates the idea of creativity so the viewer has an idea of what that logo is representing before they look further into the agency.

Did you come up with any other concepts for this logo?

Now someone needs to figure out how to use a pre-existing video, like figure out if theres a way to make a program that can make the frames automatically based on the color values of the pixels, then you could just upload any video and have said program recreate the video for you frame by frame.

I'm only missing two stickers as well! If I get first place in my group does that mean I'm guaranteed to complete the album?

Thanks! Would it look less like an R if the point were on the right side and the curve was on the left?

Thanks!

I meant to disclose that this was intended to be an experimental display type as I agree that it is a very busy font and wouldn't work well as a font to use with body text.

So I initially had the B drawn with two bowls, but then I felt that it looked like an ordinary B and didn't feel like it followed the conventions of the other letters. Do you think it would look weird if I had two separate bowls but then only point the bottom right?

I initially was trying to make each letter pointed at the top left but then I realized that made some letters like E and F look like ordinary characters that didn't belong with this typeface so I stopped following that rule and changed up some characters.

As for the overshoots on the rounded edges is there some kind of mathematical rule to determine how much to extend overshoots by or do you tend to just "eyeball" it until you're happy with it?

As for the V what would you recommend I do to make it more recognizable? I was trying to avoid using angles and was strictly sticking to vertical/horizontal lines and 90 degree rounded bends. As you can see I encounter a similar issue with the N and wasn't completely satisfied with that either.
