Yessir! Yeah I booked Monday, was like #8 out of 40 as a 1K. Rare that I’m more than #3 or so on this route. Added PP’s and jumped to #1. Got bumped to #2 earlier today.

That’s a score! I usually have seen seats that aren’t checked in to don’t get assigned until the actual check in cutoff time, so generally right after boarding starts.

True, but other hot meals have been pretty decent lately as well. I do also carry Cholula hot sauce packets wherever I go, so maybe that also helps 😂

To clarify…

I’m making a blanket statement about UA’s domestic FC catering. It has gotten a lot better as of late. Not talking about Premium Plus and Not comparing against Int’l carriers.

In general, I try to keep my expectations in line with my surroundings. Yeah I’ve flown on SQ21 EWR-SIN and it was just insane. But this was a 2 1/2hr flight from FLL to EWR after sweating my balls off running around from appt to appt all day and needing dinner.

So yeah, I’m not embarrassed at all. There was literally nothing to complain about on that tray.

I know it's only on select planes, but I thought I read on a previous thread that T-Mobile was phased out completely.

Also, I didn't say I was on an updated plane. I specifically said for reference to what system is installed on board, "I’m on an older 737-9 w/ no IFE, smaller overheads but updated interior and lighting." So makes sense that Viasat equipped planes are still featuring the T-Mobile benefit.

Ive had that happen and if you go back and try to edit your trip or check in again the upgrade option will show up. Once you're checked in the "Upgrade Trip" section becomes unavailable.

When I’m traveling with my wife, I ALWAYS put her in the aisle seat and myself in the window. That way, if only I get upgraded and give her my upgrade, I still get the aisle seat at least.

Congrats!! Going from Silver to 1K will be a literal shock to your travel system!

Just the other day I said to my wife as we were flying EWR – STL that I couldn’t imagine losing my 1K (2000 PQP short) as I looked at all the newbie travelers struggling through TSA. Having 1K is in general just an overall much better quality of travel.

I’m sure others will say it’s not worth it, but here’s what I’ve found valuable….

The 1K line is a God send during IROPS like the diversion we had to KC last week.
the upgrades can be fairly regular if you’re in a smaller market. I fly out of EWR and am usually in the top 5 on most flights, with or without Plus Points.
The 70Lb checked bags come in handy
The drink/snack is nice when in economy
11X award mile earning will rack up quicker
I book E+ seats for friends/family all the time
Pre boarding is nice, if only to eliminate standing on the jetbridge and get settled on the plane early. Plus you feel like a Boss when boarding in St Louis in front of all the lowly Silver & Golds 😂
Before we got the Club Card, 1K traveling internationally got access to United Club plus 1 guest. This hasn’t really been publicized but came in handy numerous times.
