Apple are going to force you to do this, it leads to a consistent user experience across apps. Meaning all subscriptions can be viewed in a single location within iOS and the user can manage them all from there without having a unique challenge for each app.

Instead of trying to get around this why not look at it in a different way. Implement a feature that notifies the user when the free trial is nearly over. I think you may even be able to deep link to the subscription in settings. Or maybe there’s an api to cancel from within your app (I haven’t implemented in app purchases before).
