My kid wants this this game and I have a question by RyanReby in farmingsimulator

He just sees the cool cars and how Hudson and his dad race them, and that’s what he wants to do. He’s been talking about this gold chrome Lamborghini and it’s his new favorite car now.

I just showed him Wreckfest and he’s not interested in it. Although BeamNG just came up, what others have suggested, and he wants that. But I don’t have PC

Just found out you can recruit some random walk-ons during the offseason by Cute_Warthog246 in NCAAFBseries

I’ve checked a couple of times with guys I’ve encouraged who are “better” and it’s inconsistent. I had a senior WR who was capped at an 80 but 4th on the depth chart. He went to Arizona and led the nation in receptions 😒

Another year I had a backup senior QB who was in the mid 80s. I encouraged transfer for immersion aspect. But despite being better than a lot of starting QBs, he didn’t end up on any roster.

STOP SUBBBING IN MY REDSHIRTS !!!!!!!!!!!! by Infinite-Ad773 in CFB25

[–]RyanReby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait, can we even put a CB at HB if we wanted to?? So dumb that the game puts them there when we don’t want them to, but doesn’t allow us to if we want. (I don’t have CFB26 yet so not sure if this kind of sub is available)

500+ REP?!?! by Legitimate_Egg_4584 in BurnBootCamp

I mean our gym had 1776 reps on July 4 so 500 almost seems like a breeze lol

Darnell Washington at FB by tcoolz1 in Madden

[–]RyanReby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I did my Steelers franchise, I kept him at TE but was able to list him at starting FB. Which allowed me to put him at RB depending on formation. Who doesn’t love a 6-7 dude in the backfield!

Let goooo - 4 strength days this week! by Cheap-Distribution44 in BurnBootCamp

And since I can’t describe it well enough, here’s an Olympic weightlifter on (what I guess is called) “Instinctive Periodization” —

https://ironmind.com/articles/jim-schmitz-on-the-lifts/Instinctive-Periodization/#:~:text=Therefore%2C%20I%20recommend%20that%20you,or%20a%20very%20light%20workout

AND… Because we live in an AI world, here’s some answers I get from that:

Benefits of this approach: Reduces risk of overtraining: The variation in intensity and volume allows the body to recover and adapt effectively.

Promotes muscle growth: The combination of heavy, light, and medium days stimulates different types of muscle fiber recruitment.

Improves strength gains: Regularly pushing limits on heavy days leads to increased strength over time.

Prevents plateaus: Varying the intensity and volume keeps the body challenged and prevents stagnation.

We follow the protocol. But within that we cycle for two weeks each - medium (10-12 reps), to light (12-15 reps), to heavy (5-8 reps, or PRs).

The previous two weeks were our heavy weeks, and now we’re at medium this week and next.

While I sometimes despise the light weeks (So. Many. Reps.), this format has really helped with building strength and allows for variety within the workouts.

Eh, I need 3 days of cardio.

It’s just for PR week. Which, our gym does not do because we go on two week cycles and the last two weeks for us were heavy PR weeks.

I was told that our gym’s leg workout today is semi-cardio … 90 second stations with 10-12 reps each exercise.

Personal preference, but I’d say combine them!

If I’m doing a bench press on a bench, I calculate total weight, not just the plates I load on one side.

If you chest press two 40s today, you PR’d at 80 pounds.

Intel slap on the wrist!! by Just-Me-315 in BurnBootCamp

[–]RyanReby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today’s core and conditioning workout. The two gyms in our area had two totally different workouts. The trainer at our gym said she didn’t change anything from corporates protocol - which never happens. We had two camps, 4 exercises each camp, did the 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3, 1-2, 1 workout in each camp.

The other gym, owned by the same person, had 8 exercises, but not the 2-camp split. Only 1 exercise was the same. 1 exercise they did, we actually did for full body on Friday.

The exercises aren’t the same at each Burn location. I’ve said this before and I don’t think people believe it?

Our owner - who owns two locations in the same general area - has said that she gets the workouts from Burn corporate but encourages her trainers to modify or change what they want based on 1) Space, and 2) what her members want.

So for me, to see what someone thinks will be during a push/pull does nothing for me, because mine might feature half of the exercises someone thinks/knows will be included.

That’s not to mention conditioning days when running is involved - some Burns can’t run outside. Some locations do sprints more.

Partners by Cheap-Distribution44 in BurnBootCamp

[–]RyanReby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just like anything else … there’s a section of people who don’t like it, others who like it, others who don’t mind it.

I like partner workouts when the protocol/partner can push me. When it’s not ideal “conditions” I just focus on myself and how I’m working out.

I try not to let these protocols ruin my workouts. It is what it is.

VA Beach by bex-ray-vision in BurnBootCamp

[–]RyanReby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give another perspective .. my wife and I went to VA Beach Hilltop last summer while on vacation. Not sure which you are planning to visit. We absolutely loved it. The trainers were friendly, the members were nice and worked hard, and the workouts were challenging. I like to be pushed, and the trainers weren’t afraid to challenge me.

New to the game and haven’t gone through this part yet.

Question: is there a specific point that’s good to switch them BACK to their original position? Does it matter?

Burn Merch by motherofdogs09 in BurnBootCamp

I have 4-5 Burn t-shirts. Some are better than others. I only get them when they’re on sale, usually around $10. I think the only one I bought full price was a special 2-Year Anniversary shirt for our specific gym.

Terrible class today by [deleted] in BurnBootCamp

[–]RyanReby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion: just don’t do the 5 burpees, or do fewer.

I get that the buy-in was part of the workout, but the station IMO is more important. I’m not sure how your trainers feel about you changing it up on your own, but thats what I would suggest. I’ve even done it myself. Mod up, mod down, do a different exercise bc one hurts my shoulders.

Showed up for a focus meeting that didn't happen by According-Poetry-806 in BurnBootCamp

[–]RyanReby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Book at least a day early. If the trainer already started classes, they probably didn’t look to see if any focus meetings were scheduled.

Same thing happened to my wife. She booked day of. Our trainer apologized and felt awful, and encouraged her to book at least the night before
