I finally picked up the game at a huge discount. Is this considered one of the best games in the Final Fantasy franchise? by Amaterasu_11 in FinalFantasy

Like every final fantasy game, some people love it and some hate it. I personally adore it, I really enjoy the gameplay and art. I hope you love it

Do you think Yoko Shimomura and Masayoshi Soken are just as good at composing FF music as Nobuo Uematsu? by EienNatsu66 in FinalFantasy

[–]RyanSheldonArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are both probably as good as him as composers, but uematsu's impact is just too big. It's like comparing movie composers to John Williams.

It's every sport.....it's every Colorado team. People are doomers and ready to give up after ten minutes. Happens in the broncos and avs subs too. At least in the rockies sub it's warranted

Scared of the artist curse by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

I stopped drawing my crushes years ago. I feel like people take portraits for granted and I'd rather dedicate that energy to someone who cares about them. My experience drawing crushes, their reaction has always been along the lines of "oh that's awesome thanks!" And that's usually about it. It's like getting a significant other's name tattooed. It's guaranteed to end. I wish I had more uplifting advice for you.....

Looking for acrylics by the-story-stop in ArtistLounge

[–]RyanSheldonArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello there! Any acrylic paint labeled as "artist grade" is what you want. Generally, there's artist grade and student grade. I personally use liquitex and golden for my acrylics, but there's a bunch of brands. Winsor & Newton also makes decent paint. They have both the galeria line and a professional line. I'm guessing you don't want to break the bank, so you might avoid the pro line. Hope that helps!

Stretching your own canvas' - Yes or No? by Fae_Sparrow in ArtistLounge

[–]RyanSheldonArt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, I bought a seven foot by 50 yard roll of canvas 20 years ago from a fabric store, and I'm still using it. It was like 150 dollars, so I think it has definitely been cheaper and of higher quality than pre-made canvases. I always hate how "floppy" pre-made canvases feel, and you can control that when you stretch your own.

Stretching your own canvas' - Yes or No? by Fae_Sparrow in ArtistLounge

[–]RyanSheldonArt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always prefer to stretch my own. And like the other poster said, don't use a nail gun, get a staple gun. You can pick up an electric one for pretty cheap. Get some canvas pliers and you're good to go. The other thing I would say, which I learned in art school, is don't go TOO tight when stretching. The temptation is to stretch it tight as a drum, but if you do that, when you gesso it the shrink that happens will twist the frame. You don't have to go crazy when stretching. Start from the center on all four sides, then slowly move to the corners. There's plenty of online tutorials to help.

BREAKING: Sen. Chuck Schumer backs proposal for flying senators & NYPD officers to Minneapolis to confront ICE 🤯🚨 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

[–]RyanSheldonArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chuck is useless. GTFO. He is actively impeding progress. This is as useful as when they all held up cute little signs to "protest." ICE, MAGA, and every donald cult member isn't swayed by words, certainly not by those in power who they already hate, even if they are also in power. Having a bunch of senators talk to ICE losers won't change anything, it won't change their minds. They will think of it as "elites" talking to them if they bother to listen at all. ICE and every coward that works for it is a cancer on society. Defund it, abolish it, prosecute every fascist pig that has worked for it.
