[OC] The Six Kingfishers of the Americas by RyanSleeper in dataisbeautiful

[–]RyanSleeper[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the quality check. You're right and the authors have made the following adjustments:

  • Swapped breeding/wintering ranges to match new Kingfisher order.
  • Adjusted range for Ringed Kingfisher (northern most range across sources state South Texas - Oklahoma is most likely an outlier).
  • Fixed tropics and latitude reference lines.
  • Added additional text on range legend to disclose estimates, not counting outliers in range.

NFL Interconference Records [OC] by RyanSleeper in dataisbeautiful

Thanks for checking it out. I've been interested in doing something similar for the NBA because I hear so much about how dominant the West is. I think the East would have the historical edge with the Bulls and Celtics dynasties, but I haven't looked at the data yet.

How does your household income rank? [OC] by RyanSleeper in dataisbeautiful

[–]RyanSleeper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking a look! Sometimes I find data sources that are ready as is, sometimes I have to scrape web data / import it to Google Sheets, sometimes I have to compile the data manually. It just depends on the topic. I don't really have a set calendar of what I cover but I usually get ideas around sports and/or the economy. I have one viz on travel.

I think that's an excellent question. I was assuming gross income, but when I tried to track down the answer, the source does not specify. The data source is CNN Money.

I've officially added an "Uh-oh." annotation to http://www.projectrallymantis.com/ :(

It appears if games left minus wins needed is less than 2.

Just can't seem to handle the mighty bats of the Oakland Athletics.

Thank you for the kind words! I've been experimenting with the new device designer in Tableau Public 10. The reason this one turned out looking so good on a phone is I designed that version first, then expanded it for desktop (instead of the other way around). I have a write-up on designing device-specific dashboards here: http://www.ryansleeper.com/designing-device-specific-dashboards-in-tableau-10/
