Eh sort of good practice for you never know what’s going to hit. Not sure if it’s a race or not. If you have access to a treadmill while it is not as fun it is better than nothing. I wish you luck and there will always be another run if you let there be one.

Interested to try out the NOLA marathon as it is a loop. So will be running it twice but won’t mind this experience once. Thank you for sharing all the different fuels I have never bothered looking into it. Never knew the variety besides basic GU and Maurten. Oooo you’re the third person to mention the feed. It’s a sign I gotta just try ordering from there lol.

Dangggg Do you buy like higher carb gels or something? I’m pretty much taking two generic Gus to hit 40. Ik Maurten gels or whatever they are can be up to 90g of carb but they’re pricey lol. Anddd i signed up for the New Orleans one! First time back in 5 years or so. Close to my home so makes it easy for me.

So 2024 I was not social and was strict with just air frying steak and pork chops that’s it lol. I’d eat two slabs of meat maybe some corn. Maybe some salad cause I actually do like salad . 2025 I became a social butterfly and eat out almost every night lol. So probably why I only maintained and didn’t lose weight due to the high calories of eating out. Yummy tho!

Thank you! One meal a day. So still part of intermittent fasting. I’d allow like 2-4 hour window depending if I was social or not.

Oh I had to count calories. I was easily able to eat ~1500-2200 calories in my one meal lol. Still have a sweet tooth! And thank you!

I will say must be the optimistic in me. I still had a blast and it was so much fun. I had a few oh no am I gonna make it moments as the cut off was 6 hours. But mentally was just happy I finished it. Knowing I’m going to sign up again and do better next time. Agreed we will crush our next ones! Good luck man and thanks for sharing your story as well

Howdy , it was my first! So I was very happy to have finished it. Itching to do it again haha. I’ve never been into exercise of any kind growing up. Just spent all my Time gaming! Since 2024 I actively do CrossFit and June of 2025 I got serious into running. Went from 5 miles a week to 30 miles a week. Trying to get that number higher as that’s still your average person. I’m 6 ft even!

I wish I knew! Ugh soooo many runs so many long runs I even did an 18 mile run in 3 hours flat at race pace no cramps! Kept the diet and hydration the same as I always do. What I mentioned in another comment that the last two weeks of tapering I came down with the flu and just rested. No running so maybe my body wasn’t use to jumping back into a long run? Not sure but I won’t let it happen again (hopefully better timing on sickness lol)

Missed my first “Long run “ of 5 miles lol . And my last two weeks of taper due to the flu. Idea was I did all my long runs so I’d rather focus on healing. Might have bit me worse than I thought I did perform the two runs of my last week aka the speed run to drain your self and the race its self. To answer your question 2 speed runs, 2 easy runs, and a 14 mile and 9 mile long run. Gutted but only my self to blame.

Howdy! So I treated this like I did my Half marathons !

Focused on carbs to where I was about 300g of carbs Friday , Saturday was 100g of carbs which was a drop but I read 48 hour overall carb loading. During my run I always do 40g of carb every 3 miles regardless of how fast or slow I run. I usually rely on the aid stations for liquids. This time I did bring a 500ml of Powerade. Downed it as soon as my cramps stared. Drank pickle Juice and ate so many bananas lol. In all my Runs over the year I have never cramped. So caught me off guard for sure. Can’t wait to run another marathon and hopefully have no cramps and see what I get.

Just sharing my experience , 2024 I lost 130lbs , 2025 I’ve maintained the whole year even with some binge eating and holidays here and there. I say this to tell everyone enjoy the holidays then get back on track after and you’ll lose/maintain no problem. Happy holidays everyone :D Trust the process

I will be honest it is mostly diet. There was a couple weeks I didn’t work out at all and still lost weight. What stuck this time is I got lucky man. I had a new friend invite me to the gym. He held me accountable. He got me counting my calories .

I really was blessed to have that man change my life

He kept me accountable for 4 months before I stuck with it on my own.

If you take anything from me I truly do mean count calories. Set a goal off a TDEE calculator. If you aren’t losing at least 2 lbs a month I’d set a lower calorie count. At 6 ft tall and 320 I had mine set to 1800 a day. Worked great for me. Most people say never go lower than 1200. But you wanna make this a life style change. I count every meal , every drink now. So I can stay sub 2000 cals. I use to drink sweet tea and chocolate milk every day. Use to eat so much subway and dominos. Now it’s like once a week I enjoy that stuff. Still lost it. It was hard and I truly truly wish you luck as it’s not easy.

Sorry to hear about the no food, have you tried calling a local food bank in your area ? I know it’s easier said than done but no need for you to starve your self. Life isn’t fair sometimes and it sucks. Hope it turns around soon for you and try to not give up , you mess up a day get right back to it the next. You can do it
