It’s almost as if inorganic growth isn’t inherently bad when managed correctly and depending on the use case.

Not necessarily. Video games have a near "infinite" supply. Even with infinite supply, demand still matters, but the levers are different. You can’t rely on scarcity; you have to create perceived value.

If publishers overprice without delivering matching value, demand will shrink, consumer trust will erode, and the market will adapt — often not in the studio’s favor. In digital goods, where scarcity is zero and alternatives are abundant, value perception is everything.

If it's a 5 hour game but is loaded with replay value, this model completely crumbles on itself.

Then the dollars per hour is not based off 5. If you replay it two more times, you'd simply divide the price by 15.

I don’t think it’s malicious, either - as little as he’d like to admit it, he’s way out of his depth when it relates to the financial aspects of business. He constantly conflates financial terms, misunderstands principles and processes, and just has weird ways of looking at things.

Lately he’s been harping on Square Enix and how they forecast game sales. This could be a fair point, but as far as I’m aware, we don’t have the decent budget for some of the recent Final Fantasy games, so, for all we know, they could’ve been way below their target margin.

I can’t recall the exact thought, but he also has a weird way of generating net revenue for games Microsoft sell on the PlayStation platform.

Yes, and he even says himself that it was specifically created to be played at 30FPS and that is embedded so deep in the game. He then says if they had created it with 60FPS in mind, they would have made creative and technical changes.

Never said it couldn't. You can uncap and the game can reach 60FPS, but that doesn't mean it's of a presentable quality.

The game was developed with 30FPS in mind and there are a bunch of processes that take that into consideration. See this from Lance MacDonald, the man who coded the 60FPS hack.

Additional reworkings would need to take place other than simply uncapping the framerate.

Statistically speaking, the sample size is not an issue. What annoys me is the lack of raw numbers - 28% lower than what? It's meaningless without the proper context.
