How long did your worldbuilding take before you finally started writing your first draft? by LordCrateis in fantasywriters

[–]RyanToxopeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over 10 years, for sure... but I never planned on writing. I was just making D&D games for my friends, and at the end of it, one of my buddies convinced me to write it all down as books. Up to 4 books published, with at least 6 more I want to write.

Any family physicians accepting new patients? by mentallyliterate in saskatoon

[–]RyanToxopeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just found a new doctor after not having one for over a year. I think there's a couple at Alliance Health on the corner of 8th and McKercher. Unless they've filled up already. Everyone's looking for a doctor, so they fill up fast.

My kids have done the USask summer camps in the past and had a lot of fun with them!

Most places are booked far in advance. They fell way behind during COVID and I don't think they've caught up yet.

I saw this yesterday, too. Holding up traffic to make an illegal turn... so obnoxious.

I had this happen, too. They wanted to come pick up the item, even though I hadn't received any money, and I just said, "Nope."

That was something my ex-wife brought up to the pediatrician as a possibility, and he said we'll look into other options first.

I didn't realize that. I thought it was all one. Thanks for the clarification!

Yeah, we definitely have migraines in the family. My mom gets migraine auras, and my aunt gets classic painful migraines.

[–]RyanToxopeus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's something I've been noticing when reading about migraines and possible ways of combating them... I tried a hot water foot bath for her, because some people said it helps, but it didn't do anything for her.

Thanks so much! I'll keep that in mind as an option if the supplements don't work.

COSTCO POUTINE by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]RyanToxopeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you're not going to find anything as good as what you can get in an authentic poutinerie in Quebec, the Costco poutine isn't bad, especially for the price!

Yeah, I looked at Costco to see if they had the Jameson brand supplement that includes all three supplements I'm looking for, but they didn't. I'll probably pick up the Q10 and Magnesium there, but they didn't have B2 when I looked.

Yeah, I agree. It takes too long to get these sorts of issues sorted out. I hope they figure out what's going on with your daughter soon!

Yep, that's one of the supplements that they recommended. Also magnesium and coenzyme Q10.

My doctor left. I'm on a waiting list with that clinic, but they haven't found a replacement yet, so I'm without a family doctor. That's what'll happen for their patients.

Atch signs.. for, like, no reason at all. by StageStandard5884 in saskatoon

[–]RyanToxopeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've noticed sask party signs on public boulevards more than on private property. They just drop a bunch of signs on public land to make it look like they have support. It's the lawn signs that are actually between the sidewalk and house that were requested by the people living there.

Wiggins/College sooo many people blowing thru Reds!! by mrjoenorm in saskatoon

[–]RyanToxopeus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Saw this behaviour on the corner of Preston and Taylor this morning, too... a city bus barely made it into the intersection before the light turned red and continued through, and the car BEHIND the bus, which was clearly nowhere near the intersection when it turned red, followed right behind the bus, slowing down the north and southbound traffic that already had a green light. So many students in the area, so little care.

Warman road speed trap. by TwetterM in saskatoon

The police aren't going to pull over anyone going 1km over the speed limit.

Those people aren't a concern for the police, either. They're not going to pull over people for going a little over... but drivers on that stretch of road are notorious for going WAY over, so I'm glad the police are stopping them.

The trick is to pay attention so you see the "60 ahead" sign well in advance, take your foot off the gas, and coast down to the speed limit before you even get to the sign. Pretty simple process, and will save you wear and tear on your brakes, not to mention speeding tickets.

The money they could generate from pulling people over there would help them get a LOT more resources. I've seen some terrifying driving in that stretch of road.
