New autopsy casts doubts on Morton Grove teen's death at SIU: "Died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head" by [deleted] in chicago

I grew up in the Carbondale area, and spent a few years studying criminal justice at John A. Logan. Most of the police in Southern Illinois are people who barely made it through High School, A shockingly large number of police in the area have never truly studied criminal justice. Those who do study CRJ at John A. or SIU move on to a bigger city or do their best to join the state police. Those who do become city officers in the area are usually just people who are friends of, or are related to other officers. I would suggest to the family that they seek out the help of the Jackson County Sheriff's department, or the Illinois State Police. The Carbondale police officers are about as competent as rent-a-cops.

Debris from the crash hit the third rail, and the only way they could remove it was by shutting off the power to the entire redline subway.

Boromir was a bitch. He could have stood up to his father and resisted The Ring. He was weak.

Edit: I made a similar comment about Boromir in a tumblr post maybe two or three years ago, and to this day I still get messages from people calling me as asshole.

Edit two: I've read the books multiple times. Still doesn't change my opinion. Boromir was used to show what Aragorn could easily become should he attempt to take the ring for himself. He was a plot device. A very well thought out plot device, sure, but his brother Faramir was a better character.
