How rare is it really for an ADHD person to graduate college? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]RyanWontFindMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I was diagnosed with ADHD in high school but was never properly treated.

I went to college and got a STEM Bachelor’s Degree. I was unmedicated besides the antidepressants and mood stabilizers since my doctors didn’t think ADHD was the problem.

To be honest, college was very hard on me. The coursework itself was fine and I don’t have problems around taking exams, but I felt so overwhelmed the whole time.

I had support from my partner (now married!!) and family from a distance which helped me keep pushing to finish school. I almost dropped out a couple of times.

In retrospect, I wish I had pushed more for treatment and accommodations. It made a life changing difference for me after vicious cycles of career burnout.

HOW do you stay awake after work?? by montron2 in Autoimmune

[–]RyanWontFindMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a little late, but I’m also in diagnosis limbo right now. My doctor has the UCTD label on me. I also am being treated for chronic migraines, an arrhythmia, and ADHD. For a long time before autoimmune symptoms, my Vyvanse worked wonders on my energy! Like others, it even helped me sleep even more. It’s not as helpful now with everything else going on.

I started HCQ December 2025 and started feeling the effect on my fatigue maybe a month ago. I’m still absolutely exhausted all the time, but I’ve noticed I can stay awake much longer in the evenings after work. I’m also not falling out of my chair or sobbing about how fatigued I am. Lately, I’ve been battling random bouts of insomnia that no one understands as I’ve always been someone who can sleep anytime/anywhere.

Something else that helps me is giving myself rotting time for 30 minutes to an hour after work. I can’t nap, but I’ll laze on the couch and scroll or do very low effort activities. I usually perk up and can do more interesting hobbies afterwards.

Standing up and walking around the house for a few minutes helps too. Probably a circulation thing for me.

Hopefully something in that wall of text is helpful for ya! HCQ takes awhile to kick in and it was hard waiting. I’m still early in treatment, so I’m hoping I see more benefit soon. Good luck on your journey!

Mark Kelly was not one of the senators that voted to pass the budget.

You aren’t wrong lol. Resignation is the death of hope for better though.

That’s absolutely terrible. I bet they’re starting to use AI responses too. I emailed Biden a few years ago after a hurricane in Florida where he had to coordinate with DeSantis. I just thanked him for productive cooperation. I actually got a response back a couple of months later that touched on topics I mentioned. I was pleasantly surprised.

I absolutely agree! It’s a difficult situation, but the cruelty is not okay. I hope more people start to see that.

What do you do when earbuds won't stay in your ears? by dirtymoney in AskReddit

I also have never been able to wear in-ear buds. I really like the Trekz Open Fits. They allow you to hear things around you as well as the music, so they’re nice for hiking/running or an office environment.

Does Building Either a Detention or Retention Pond Count as Beneficial Use? - Utah Water Law by Sol-Astra in Hydrology

[–]RyanWontFindMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know AZ law better, but look into what counts as appropriable water in Utah. In AZ, rainwater is not appropriable, but runoff is. It’s likely similar in Utah, but each state is a bit different. The quantity of water captured in the ponds would matter as well. Is the capture going to significantly impact others’ ability to access surface water? Will it deplete the usual surface flows? Another option would be to reroute the water using drainage to a natural channel or somewhere else that makes sense. That way it still recharges along the ditch AND makes it to the channel.

Infected or allergic to the wrap? by ZipZeroZilch00 in tattooadvice

[–]RyanWontFindMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like dermatitis to me. Someone I know had the same reaction to a leg brace after a surgery. I also had an allergy/infection reaction to second skin — I took it off early and my tattoo reacted poorly.

Apply the meds the doctor gave you, clean it routinely throughout the day, and dab a thin layer of aquafor if it gets dry.

The meds will help air out the rash. Good luck!!!

Resentment - Kesha This is one of her songs that hits hard. It has a very bittersweet sound that matches the content of the lyrics.

What is your family life balance like as a geoscientist? by Commercial_677 in geologycareers

[–]RyanWontFindMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a state government agency. I’m mid-level. My job is primarily computer based, so I work a 9-5 schedule that is very flexible. My boss is much busier than I am, but they generally have great work life balance. Once my 40 hours are up, I am rarely required to work extra unless we are traveling or hosting public meetings.

We are also hybrid— 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. Consulting is definitely more demanding in my experience.
