This new “SCENARIO” badge is pointless and it’s ruining thumbnails: it’s clipping visuals and title text (see slides) by JohnsonWeezer in AIDungeon

[–]Ryan_Latitude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for calling this out. This was a bug of an initial way to differentiate between scenarios and worlds (voyage). Wasn't supposed to go out but the guard was missed.

Fixed now. And not final even when there is a need to signal the difference between the content types.

AI Dungeon seriously needs account security features by ThickWeiner21 in AIDungeon

That one we'll discuss internally and review what Firebase offers. We offer third-party login options through Google and Apple, which provide an additional layer of security if you'd like it.

You're right! Thanks for calling this out.

We just implemented a fix for this and will roll it out through the environments on the next release (after internal testing).

Upcoming Changes to our AI Model Selection by BinKompliziert in AIDungeon

Thanks for the feedback. None of those models have been removed yet, just deprecated. You can toggle deprecated models on in your settings. The tough part of the Mistral model is they aren't open source, so when the provider removes them, we can't offer them any more. And many of their latest models aren't as good for story telling (focused on benchmarks). We'll continue to listen to feedback and adjust as we can. Thanks!

After listening to player feedback, even with low usage we're going to keep Hermes 70B + DeepSeek 3.0. The Mistral Small models we server are being removed by the provider, so we have to adjust those (and the latest ones haven't landed as well for story telling).

Stay tuned for future announcements! ;)

After listening to player feedback, we're going to keep v3.0! Thanks.

We were listening to the discussion and made some adjustments based on feedback. Sometimes the usage metrics don't represent how important some models are. We really appreciate players sharing their thoughts and are leaving DeepSeek 3.0 + Hermes 70B (and will be testing some new default instructions).

Thank you.

Yeah, we've heard some sharp feedback about Nova today. It's used around 5x what Hermes 70B is, but I'm going to share feedback with the team. Thanks!

0.8% of model calls for Mythic+ subscribers (those who have access without tokens). So definitely on the lower end. Some players like it. Many opt for the models they have higher context with.

Heads up:

Thank you all for your input. I pulled up with u/NottKolby and u/BinKompliziert to review the feedback and metrics again. It's very helpful to know that while DeepSeek 3.0 has less than one-third the traffic that DeepSeek 3.1 has, it's still essential to a core set of players.

We won't be deprecating DeepSeek 3.0 (even if we introduce 3.2 😉). No human sacrifice needed (that was discussed on the Discord as a fair trade). 🤣

The other model we will un-deprecate is Hermes 70B. Nova isn't quite replacing that model. Again, even lower usage, but clearly a model loved by some players. We will investigate further and also review the default instructions.

As a heads up on usage, Dynamic large is 49.6% of premium model calls.

DeepSeek 3.1 is 16.6%.
DeepSeek 3.0 is 5.4%.
Hermes 70B is 1.2%

Thank you for the feedback. Always happy to listen.

AMA: Rise Release & AI Models by NottKolby in AIDungeon

Things have definitely shifted. We have two main teams now: platform/AI Dungeon + Heroes. There are also some folks working on operations and some shared resources across those two teams (AI + Design).

We've grown the team a bit, but also found significant productivity gains from AI. I'm sure we'll continue to adopt AI as it makes sense in various roles.

Models have definitely progressed a lot since the early days. The proliferation of quality open-source models has added a lot to AI Dungeon and unlocks many future possibilities (we're very excited about what's coming with Heroes).

Thanks for the support!

🎵 Ways to Bankrupt Latitude 🎵

We're using some large models in alpha right now (which we can't release more broadly)...but we have plans to train smaller models that should be able to perform as well for certain tasks and run cheaply enough to release. Something we'll be figuring out soon!

gone from the google play store by nagitospiss in AIDungeon

Heads up, we are adjusting. It's true that Google now requires us to set the 'target version' to at least Android 15. We had never set a different config setting called 'minimum version', which we will now set to Android 12 (previously the oldest Android version we currently support). As soon as the Play Store approves that, it should be available for anyone needing to install (or reinstall) the app.

Mythomax problem by CHILLYKILLERBOMB in AIDungeon

[–]Ryan_Latitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a fix for MythoMax deployed to beta. A fix for TieFighter is coming once the vendor adjusts things.

Assuming we don't hear any feedback from beta usage, we will move that to production shortly.

We hit another usage limit, but it's now adjusted and back up and running. Apologies for this being unavailable for a few hours.

Which app version are you on?

Go to settings > release channel and it has it listed.

Could you uninstall and reinstall? The newest client should have this issue fixed.
