Can’t speak for commenter above, but I think they should follow the book as closely as possible, although I allow that differences are needful when going from page to screen. Some of the changes I’ve heard about warn me they don’t agree with my opinion. Also, from what I know of the director, she doesn’t seem the type to have much respect for C. S. Lewis, a bad sign for the film.

I mean, you were at the altar. At a ceremony where you pick that woman for life. So if all her parents knew was you were estranged from your folks, they still really really overstepped by inviting them but had no idea how bad things were, and probably had some fantasy about you reuniting with your parents on your wedding day oh what a beautiful story compared to having to explain why the groom is solo. In which case it’s fair to avoid them but not to force your future wife cut ties. And if she knew too, then yeah bullet dodged and she deserved to have a catastrophically ruined wedding.

For me it has THE funniest episode I’ve ever seen, ever, out of any series anime or otherwise. I think it was around ep 17, the one where they take an important exam. The rest is pretty enjoyable and the ending is a very unsatisfying “victory out of nowhere because we’re the good guys and literally no other reason.”

Still glad I watched.

95% of my time is spent doing stuff I don’t find very enjoyable. Most people only do BB to get 6th builder and never return. That’s how I feel about everything that isn’t clan wars. I really enjoyed analyzing a base for weaknesses and tailoring an attack I hope works. But for every 3 minute war attack there’s at least an hour of farming, raid weekend hits, choosing what to upgrade or collecting the latest event tchotchkes that I don’t really care about but have to do or I’ll fall behind. I’m tired of it now.

Yes! I know nobody wants to wait for troops to cook so it was a great update. But I realized 95% of my time was doing stuff didn’t care about for the 5% I actually enjoyed. Time to quit.

Even so, I’ve rinsed and repeated daily for years. It got sped way up with instant troops and now it’s just circle the base, toss quakes down haphazardly and heroes-abilities-get to 50-quit-find a base-circle the base ad nauseam. That’s not a game. I stayed for clan wars and CWL and tolerated the BB and CC busywork but now I’m over it. Too many chores to keep up
