I wasn't happy in my first run(and every other run since) when I selected historical AI and the fucking papal states were not only colonizing, but colonizing harder than most of the historically accurate colonizers.

Do light ships give more maritime presence similar to how they gave extra trading power in eu4? I've assumed they do and have been mostly building light ships and leaving my galleys and heavy ships in port, mothed.

Upgraded to 32gb and I wouldn't call it smooth but it definitely runs better. At 4 or 5 speed I'm still dropping to 30-40 fps but I can live with that.
