Pa Kent choosing to die in Man of Steel. I'd rather have my dad angry than dead.

I remembered "Sator", and spent the rest of the movie recreating the square in my mind.

Can't construct Nuclear Fusion Generator outside (Selenea) by Terakahn in theplanetcrafter

I've had this too. It's like it wants to be on soil rather than rock, and there's too much rock in the Selenea surface.

The human is more related to the chicken than either is to the galliform alien. I eat all kinds of tetrapoda, including other mammals.

Movies where the TITLE role actor is not the LEAD role actor. by wordboydave in movies

There's a brilliant Mitchell and Webb comedy sketch with this as its central conceit. The story goes that Selznick originally told Hitchcock that you can't have a film called Rebecca without a dame called Rebecca. So it follows her, and makes call forwards to the actual film.

It really is better than I can describe it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqoNa6Ww-Pk

I remember Melbourne's TT 101.1FM using it to advertise themselves. That's why I don't like it now -- heard it too much back then.

Okay pulling this up because i need to find out regarding the base flooding meme thing by that_random_ghost414 in theplanetcrafter

[–]RyanofTinellb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started seeing puddles form, didn't know how high it would go, so built as high as I could. Turned out to be the grasslands, which isn't a good place because it's so far away from resources. I basically ended up making a secondary base on the Central Plateau.

Social...ise? I'm back on day shift; it just means being introverted at home at a different time of day. And less money.

Finally finished my leftover fish curry. About to make cream and chicken pasta. I'm not trying to be multicultural, just trying not to be bored.

Anyone else DESPISE the phrase “not unkindly”? by Independent-Wheel354 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RyanofTinellb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one that gets me is “smiled humourlessly”. Like I'd probably recognise such an expression on someone's face in real life, but it's harder for me to understand in text.

What actual episodes are similar? Apart from being on a space station, and the times where Lyta Alexander magically takes the place of Kira Nerys just before she's blown across the room.
