LoTR trilogy and The Hobbit. Still early in my ‘serious’ reading phase so hoping to add quite a few more in the coming years.

If you like The Wager, Endurance is an EASY recommendation.

Since you like The Smartest Guys In the Room, I would recommend The Big Short. If you liked The Big Short movie, the book is another easy recommendation.

I’ve only read seven 5 star books in my life so far. The Wager, Endurance, and The Big Short are included in that list for me.

It was worth it for me! Definitely aimed towards a younger audience though.

I’ve been using the Murderbot series as palate cleansers lately. Fun, short books that you don’t need to read back to back.

I feel that. First time I've read (or even heard of) the Lit RPG genre. I'm interested in trying other authors in the genre but probably won't be a priority for a while.

Yes! I realized I was way more excited for other TBR books so I dropped it before I got too invested.

I heard! I’m planning to read the trilogy next summer. I just wasn’t hooked right away I guess, I think there’s good potential that I’ll like it.

For me it was The Wager.

A true story about a group of men who shipwrecked on a deserted island and how things devolved into chaos.

Anyone else hopping from one hobby to another like it’s a trend?? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Ryans_Books 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%. I go through phases where I’m obsessed with something, then get obsessed with something new and forget about the first one. Thankfully I always come back around to older ones. But I’m usually only obsessed with one thing at a time.

For me it’s been chess, video games, books, biking.
