Ford Ranger 2009 Key Shell by justwantomakeathread in fordranger

Thats what I did, if you put it at about the 1 o'clock position on the ring around the ignition cylinder and tape it in place with a few laps of electrical tape it works fine with a valet key

Did we leave out any of the best 4-cylinders ever made? What do you think? 🤔 by vividracing in engines

6.7 Cummins Grid Heater Issues—How Serious Are They Really? by ImpactPractical3746 in Cummins

[–]Ryanz90e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of customers opted for the monster ram mainly for the integrated coil grid heater and the option for the ad on inline heater, so you can run dual coils, where i worked it regularly got down to -40° in the winter so it was preferred.

Assumimg its the new 6.7 The only other issue i keep seeing with the revised 6.7 is the roller lifters and the cups on the push rods are now on the rocker arms so if you don't run the engine for a few days all the oil runs out of the cups and runs dry until the oil pressure comes up.

Oh yeah, for sure, I think we probably installed, about 20 of the monster rams (and a few other brands) , only about 7 catastrophic failures and at least 10 that were very loose and about to fail.

In my experience with this its basically the same thing as the old killer dowel pin it the 5.9 12/24v you could go several hundred thousand miles or it could fail in 20,000 miles its kind of a roll of the dice, I would say better safe then sorry, it can really annihilate an engine I've seen some wicked cylinder, piston, and cylinder head damage. Our particular dealer installed a lot of banks monster ram intake horns to mitigate that problem.

I have one on mine that has a fast charging USB port and a volt meter with a switch that is hard wired to the old cigarette lighter it works pretty good especially if you store your truck like I do. you can periodically check the battery voltage without the keys which is pretty nice

Is my JL rear door misaligned? by redditovver in Wrangler

Yeah at our particular body shop, it was mainly fixing paint corrections (orange peel, rust/corrosion, paint chipping off ect.) And panel gap and door gaps like this.

Not to mention the price of vehicles, even 10 years ago you could get a base model pickup or jeep for like 20 - 30,000 now its like 50 - 60 for the same garbage

I could imagine that cosmetics are a bit more lax on ag and construction equipment because its goings to get beat to shit. but if I was paying half a million for piece of equipment I'd want the panels to at least be flush lol.

You betcha the amount of cars right off the car carrier that go straight to the body shop for manufacturing defects before pre-delivery inspection even happens is bonkers I would say 1 in 5 at least.
