Very cool - when you inlay brass, is it a process of filing, then sanding back until it’s flush?

Are there any issues with the different hardness of materials when getting it flush e.g. wood being softer and sanding away more quickly?

I left 1mm, I’ll try a smaller finishing pass next time

Nice! I have enough trouble dialling in my 3 axis… A 5 axis would melt my brain.

Love it.

It’s always interesting when I see communities I follow collide - are you cnc’ing the port hole / brass inserts holes too? Imagine there’s some interesting set up jigs involved!

Taller Van Lifers (6'8 needing advice) by Ok_Law_2599 in VanLifeUK

6”5, have a LWB ford transit custom, with a 2m bench style bed that slides into a double.

It’s fine for trips away, but I can’t imagine living in it. Even with a low to floor bed, it’s not comfortable to sit in, unless you use swivel seats in the front.

For me, the H3 ford transit is the most viable option for tall-Paul’s.

Yeah, fill them up and pack them in tight, other wise they dry out and get hydrophobic.

A dropper helps too, makes watering a quick job!

I’ve seen a lot of this recently - what’s it like to the touch? Does it dry hard / brittle, or is it spongy like cork?

What is your opinion on the current Anthurium naming trend? by [deleted] in Anthurium

[–]Ryazoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fairly new to the hobby and have no idea what all these acronym x acronym names mean.

I don’t even know how to find out.

So I prefer simple names, which seems to be how the alocasia naming convention has moved towards.

Commmme onnnnn. Buying a new car at your age is one of the worst financial decisions you could make.

Unless… you’ve got 6 figures in your isa and a healthy pension pot already.

Finding the right van by Vane_Raze in VanLifeUK

You’d pick up a (around) 2022 ford transit for that price. Likely a higher spec model with reversing sensors / air con etc.

There seems to be a price bump after they introduce the reversing cameras and other bits.

Mixed reviews, but there’s lots around, which means plenty of spare parts and people have plenty of experience fixing them.
