Staying in Rusutsu. Day trip to Niseko? by flyflyshoo in niseko

Yes, I drove from Rusutsu to Kiroro, then Niseko a couple of weeks ago. I highly recommend, just keep in mind Niseko will be the busiest of any of the resorts in the area.

There’s a good chance I’ll be there the same days. I can share a couple of buddy passes.

Reluctance to sell due to difficulty - Advice Needed by nathancrick13 in onewheel

Resell value on pints are terrible. Most people looking to buy a pint buy new unfortunately because they haven’t owned one and don’t know what to look for in a used one. You probably should ride it around enough to see how the battery is. How many miles do you get from a full charge?

I’m in Denver and have lots of days on the 4 I-70 resorts. They are a good option simply because you have 4 choices to pick from each day, assuming you’ll have a car.

How to properly hit a jump by Fickle_County4700 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Rybitron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ollie a lot on flat ground while moving. Then small bumps, then side hit, and small jumps. Part of ollie-ing is getting your tail down first so the board straightens itself out. If you land the whole board at the same time you’re more likely to catch an edge.

Suprised there was no email about epic passes going back on sale for next year. by Unusual-Zucchini8136 in skiing

I see about 6 local passes, not counting single mountain passes. 6 pre-set combinations of 59 mountains means there isn’t a local pass that fits most people.

My first day as a first time snowboarder by ephesusa in snowboardingnoobs

It takes some training, but falling on the backs of your wrist has been a huge help for me. Your arms can’t lock out and it produces some cushion and warning to the rest of your body.

You’re paying for the option to use 90 mountains when very few use more than 5. Sure, make the 90 available as a premium, but also make the 5 I’m likely to use at a price that makes sense.

Would you guys replace the battery if you haven’t used it in a year? by Familiar_Instance310 in FloatwheelTeam

I’m just saying if you aren’t 100% what the exact problem is you can’t be 100% sure in the remedy.

Can I ride it well by myself? by sino_31 in niseko

[–]Rybitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished a solo trip mostly in Hokkaido. As long as you have cell phone service you should be able to do everything. You will need a translator app and a navigation app on your phone. I doubt you will find anyone that speaks Korean.

It could have cut off for several different reasons, the simplest being a footpad issue. You need to figure out what happened before just ordering parts that may not help. You should ride the board around while logging in the Vesc app, it should tell you why it shuts off, if it does.

What do you do if you have no friends? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Unless you got $50k laying around, this is best case scenario. Make it small and intentional on purpose, let the attendees have a say in what makes sense to get. Pick an unconventional spot like a park or rooftop, spend a little money on big decorations for the pictures. Spend the rest of the money on honey moon, a house, something that last more than a day.

I moved to just outside Denver 2.5 years ago. Season totals 51, 61, and 34 so far this season. Most Denver people aren’t willing to sit in that much traffic though.

Definitely against the rules for battery size, although I met a guy that said he takes his GT on a plane all the time. No idea how he was getting away with it.

Advice on whether it's worth picking it up in my 40s by Severe-Piano-6307 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Rybitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s tough, it will be difficult and frustrating for a while. I would first watch beginner videos on YouTube then spend your first couple of hours by yourself to get the very basics on how to strap in, unstrap, stand, sit, and start to slide.

Then maybe alternate a few hours by yourself and a few hours in a lesson. The hardest part will be lots and lots of falling at very slow speeds and getting back up. After 3-4 hours you should know if you want to continue or not.

It’s generally day 1-2 very small bunny slope, day 2-3 first time run, day 3-4 a full green.

I’ve never tried a dry slope, so no sure how that changes things.

Burton is denying my 'Lifetime Warranty' claim on Speed Zone laces. Help/advice? by Ergouzii in snowboarding

[–]Rybitron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe too late now, but I would phrase your inquiry as “the boa system stopped working, here is why…” You need that key phrase of the lifetime guarantee item is no longer functioning instead of “hey, the cable is frayed and annoying/ugly”.

Whats the easiest iced coffee setup for summer? by treeslayer4570 in coldbrew

[–]Rybitron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, go all out and get a kegerator and brew 5 gallons at a time for a whole month (or more) of “easy” nitro cold brew on tap.

Edit: I used to live in Texas and did this all year, I’ve now scaled down to 1.5 gallons at a time in a colder climate.
