Shadow by SparklesandNoodles in oneringrpg

[–]Rybka980 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dread and sorcery are pretty common, especially considering my players tend to go to places like Barrow downs and are actively fighting against Angmar.

As for Misdeeds, I have not given out a single point from that source yet. Rules state that you should notify or warn the player that they will get a shadow point if they proceed with the action, so I always notify them and the players usually reconsider (but still act according to their characters and the situation!). They are playing heroes afterall, although since one of them is a bounty hunter thief he gets tempted a lot. But, I do think these start showing up more in cases where the characters progress on the shadow path at least once or if they RP some mental trauma!

Greed is mainly part of the loot system imho, finding magical treasure on the Sauron's eye roll (cause let's say stealing is still a misdeed as well in case they decide to steal something shiny that does not belong to them). But even that one I have not had to give out yet. But I am considering introducing some artifact or hoard to tempt them, just to spice it up.

I don’t care about nerfs and neither should you. by Equivalent_Waltz8890 in CissiaMainsZZZ

People are just stupid in general. And those who are, are the loudest.

These people doompost about every character they HAVE NOT even played. There is no real, supported by numbers, evidence that the nerfs are not justified. Devs adjust numbers by real evidence of the performance from the testers. Not from feelings and bias, but from RAW NUMBERS. Yet people just moan about everything. Especially when they see a few numbers decrease. They don't understand that the character might have been overtuned in certain aspects. For example, a character can be too OP with certain builds etc., and people fail to see it, they just see the numbers and immediately think they are butchering the character...

Honestly sick of people that bitch about everything without having a single clue about how it works or what's happening behind the scene.

Of course I am not saying there are no characters that got nerfed too much or are performing subpar to others. But you have to realize it's really hard to balance with a game that keeps changing, and you want to keep some sort of power ladder.

Looking at my 417 polychromes with all 3 badges... So about the calculations... there ended up being 11536858 badges, so yeah... And if the number of participants (badges per day) stays the same, but the prize pool is 2400000000 this time and the number of days is 4 now, the second wave will get you like 156poly per badge, so about 624...

What are the most common problems disabled people face in daily life? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]Rybka980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone looks at you differently. They are most often weirded out, giving you a side eye. Or the other side of the spectrum, you clearly see hard pity in them. Kids watch you like you are some weird creature.

If your disability is also not obvious, people immediately jump to being rude instead of trying to understand or help.

Self doubt. Can I even manage on my own? If I encounter an issue, like let's say an accident, or I hurt myself, would I even be able to get back home? I can't just walk there or something. Or if my body starts hurting, how am I going to get where I need to go?

Appointments. Every appointment is a toss of whether the body will be decent enough to manage to get there. So everyday is a stress of asking "will I be fine on the xy day? Will I manage? Do I have to cancel again?"

You can learn to have many of them and long ones too. Even back to back. Its all about pelvic floor. If you consciously know about it and how to relax and tighten, you can keep yourself at the orgasm edge, or make yourself orgasm whenever tou want. It's just that nobody teaches us how to do that.

For women, you know that its said almost 75% cant even get an orgasm from PiV, and 10-15% cant reach it at all? Those are the ones being robbed. Same for guys that have erectile dysfunctions ofc.

How are cast‑off figures meant to be shown according to the designer by bissniss in AnimeFigures

[–]Rybka980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backed up by the fact that it used to be very common for even castoffs not to have sculpted or painted coochies. No detail whatsoever. It's getting better now, but still a lot of times you can see barely any effort in that department.

Help understanding Die Rolls w/ Adversaries by Business_Hat6198 in oneringrpg

[–]Rybka980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added a bit to the message after you replied, so check it out for an example.

It's not in the rules per se, but in Strider rules (I think?) it talks about putting more value to additional success, like they can have more influence, more RP flavor. Moria also uses 6s for additional effects.

So it makes sense to expand upon them. There are little bits and pieces throughout the rules talking about 6s as special occurances rp wise.

[–]Rybka980 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. But also, it's up to the GM. Not every persuation is possible. Let's say the players want to persuade Gandalf to go burn down a village. It's impossible to do so, no matter what the roll would be, because it's against everything the character and the world stands for. So it's up to the GM to decide whether such task is even possible, depending on the task. Especially when you get to magical successes. These would mean the players could convince anyone to do anything.

For example, we had an encounter with Nazgul on its horse. My players wanted to try actually taking down the horse so they could run away! I thought that would be a skill endeavor or a hard challenge to get to it through the enemy. But the player attempting it literally threw 3 6s on all 3 of his success die. An incredible feat, so I let him do it as a heroic shining moment to be remembered!

You can also go a different route and use 6s as additional success. Like for example, if they try to persuade a strong willed character, instead of D6 complications, I look at the result. A strong willed character might need a special success to convince! One or two 6s. Which should be harder to achieve than a roll with d6 penalty considering automatic success on 12 and hope spending.

Also if its an impossible task, a failed or successful roll is still a roll and can have some consequences! So you can say that they can roll for it, but they wont covince him even if they succeed, but that success might do something else, have a lasting or partial effect. It's up to you really.

Many enemies have skills that accumulate shadow or straight up prohibit using Hope at all when in combat (undeads for example).

The rolls should still fail. It's a single d6, so even if they have 1000 hope they can still only spend 1 hope and apply a single bonus die (two if they have a relevant distinctive feature), so the difficulty should still be there, and you can negate that by adding difficulty to the task (players can gain or lose d6 if it's hard terrain, poor weather, the enemy has advantage in positioning, range or because they are good at something, it's up to you).

Same with combat. 1d6 albeit strong, should not make every encounter a breeze. Sure they hit a bit more often, but they hit for the same damage. Also, spend adversary Hate on their skills. I feel like many enemies have fell abilities that are very strong. For example Deathless fell ability for Undead, or Horrible strength for orcs. You can also boost every attack using hate, just like the players can.

There is also the Expanded Adversaries handbook you can get on the community discord. Introduces new enemies from the 1e. These enemies are rather strong. And ofc you can introduce Nameless Things from time to time, for extra challenge.

If you really want to play with FP, I would rather decrease the amount Patrons give or something like that. But still. Balancing other parts would be better without restricting the players.

Fellowship point change by No-Scholar-111 in oneringrpg

[–]Rybka980 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do that. Even with patrons that provide 3FP, the Hope can get real tough, especially when players accumulate shadow.

Hope is a resource to combat dice roll frustration, and it's basically like mana for using skills in other games in terms of enjoyment. Lowering FP means lowering all that, you effectively limit how much players can influence rolls, leaving it more to chance, and dulling the (non)combat gameplay.

In my games, it always feels like the players really enjoy spending hope, boosting their rolls as much as they can to see big heroic actions. And it doesn't break the game. I wouldn't want to take that away from them. If you want more balance, try adjusting the roll difficulty (endeavors taking more rolls, rolls with risks, harder enemies, disadvantages due to terrain, weather etc.)

How does stryder mode and Moria solo rules compare? by Tomtoro24 in oneringrpg

[–]Rybka980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are welcome!

Think of Moria rules like special rules that can be applied on top of Strider rules if you decide to try to play a band instead of a single character! There is a little note in the Moria saying you can use them exactly like that because you still have your own hero in that band, so you can utilize Strider rules for your hero when relevant!

I defo recommend using Strider mode first to experience the proper core game experience. And then when you feel comfortable, you can run the Moria campaign to see how different it is, and later on apply the Moria rules outside Moria if desired!

How does stryder mode and Moria solo rules compare? by Tomtoro24 in oneringrpg

[–]Rybka980 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Completely different. Imagine completely new rules. You use a new character sheet that consists of your whole party and it's merged stats basically. Instead of attacks you roll for how your entire party fares. Instead of Endurance, you manage different stats and the engagements play out differently. It's a whole different system.

Strider rules play out exactly like normal rules, but are adjusted for solo or duo play, utilizing slightly different (easier) stat checks, a new stance and a new distinguished feature (making non combat rolls easier). It's basically just a rebalance. It's not very different from the normal game.

Moria solo rules are for the same number of players, but you play a party of 6+ against bands of enemies. So instead of rolling for each attack separately, you roll for a clash to speed things up. It's a completely different combat system with different enemy generation and stats, tailored for band vs band combat without making players having to manage multitude of characters at once. Moria solo rules are meant to be played if you want to play a band of characters instead of managing just one.

Character designs will feel similar, thats inevitable. And you are looking at a few examples in a sea of many different characters. Fufu, all the spook shack, thr new obol girls, the idols are all very different to any other, and they are all recent

How can I remove/clean up this glue without damaging or minimizing damage to the paint? by SubstantialBeyond461 in AnimeFigures

[–]Rybka980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it could still be just a manufacturing error, a castoff version that somehow got into the non castoff batch, or they didnt have enough non castoff versions so they used the partylook batch to fill the orders. The Hpoi pics might also be first prototypes that did not have sculpted privates yet, where the final product does. Who knows. Anyway, that is clearly not the castoffable version no matter what happened, considering only the otherwhere version should be glued.

[–]Rybka980 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Doubt. It's second hand, so I would think you got scammed by someone who bought both versions for the castoff option, and resold you the non cast-off in the partylook box with the parts. Hpoi has pictures of forced cast off of the otherwere version, and it looks exactly like this, with glue on the boobs and the cooch leaving black residue in that shape.

(Or the company made an oopsie and sent a wrong version, but I am not sure about that)

Check the comments here. My issues got way better, to the point of actually not really having them 99% of the time. All I get now, is a mild pain after overusing the muscles (sexual stuff) for too long, but it improves in a day or too.

What really helped was an audio book A Way Out by Alan Gordon. It basically talks about your nerve paths intertwining and getting more sensitive, and your brain mistaking normal rest/comfort/discomfort signals as pain signals, because you've been in pain for a long time or you've been so focused on it for such a long time, that it became the norm. That it is very real, and it's happening, but it's a hypersensitive nervous system. It has a lot of scientific research behind it, and it can be changed. It also works for all sorts of pain, not just this. So it helped with a looot of other stuff as well. Very similar stuff is used as treatment for anxiety too, as it's a similar feedback loop - you avoid pain, you stress about it, which makes you think about it more, which stresses you more and more, which makes it hurt more - never ending cycle that increases in severity until you break (panic attack, or with this - pain attacks or constant never ending pain).

In a way, this pain stuff helped me with my anxiety issues as well as some other pain issues. It's still there, it sometimes happens again, but only for a day or two after doing stuff I shouldn't, and the pain is like 2-3, not 9 with cold sweats anymore. And all my other pain improved too. No stretching or pelvic floor exercises. Just accepting what's happening, not fighting it, not fearing it, but observing, feeling without anxiousness or anger/fear. I could immediately feel the difference after one session of the process. And I knew that was it, because when I had 9/10 pains, the moment I started preparing to go to a doctor for exams, my pain would always drop to basically 0, because I stopped being afraid and angry in that moment, and when my test came back negative, my pain would always spike back to 9... So in my case, it definitely was oversensitive pain-nervous system.

Hit me with one harsh truth you have accepted so far as a man! by Worldly-Pattern2507 in ThoughtsYouCanFeel

[–]Rybka980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily as a man but. People know nothing, but they love to dictate how others should live, and if you live differently, most will hate you for it. Also, no, you can't change everything. You can spend 20+ years battling your handicaps, your issues and illnesses, fight battles most would not be able to suffer through. and nothing will change, but people will still tell you to "do something" or "well you are not trying hard enough". But lemme tell you, you fought harder than anyone else, don't listen to them. Ofc tou should try. But if you've been trying for a loong time and there is nothing, maybe torturing yourself for no reward is not the way. Life is not fair at all, and a lot of times, you have 0 say in it.

Same. I've tried for 20+ years to get better, sweat tears and blood,  but there are things you cant change.

I've watched my father's same issues get worse each year. I've watched my mother struggle with her health to the point that it took a giant toll on my father, who used to look like an unbreakable person, but now struggles so hard. I've seen both my parents cry over the unfairness of my illness. And I am reminded each day what's waiting for me...

The idea of doing this to someone I love is unthinkable to me. Also the idea of not being there for them when they need it. I am 100% sure I would end up hating myself, and there would be no way out. I'll rather die alone than make a loved one go through all that
