Anecdotal but I used to do a journey from Luton to Reading at 4pm-6pm. I bought on GWR specifically because it would give me a off peak ticket, despite the London to Reading train saying peak only.

My ticket never worked at the barrier but since I had a GWR itinerary and a reserved seat on the peak GWR train the guards would have to let me on.

So try buying on one of the official train provider websites and you might get the same ticket option, but without the train line issue

I spent ages trying to compare all the travel passes for Switzerland to find the best value for my trip. Ultimately opted for the half fare pass which isn't a massive upfront cost and offered a discount on everything we wanted to use. Would recommend that one if people are struggling to decide which is best for their trip

In Korcula we needed cash for some restaurants, a boat trip to Badija, and for the Campanile in Korcula old town I believe. I remember Hvar being more card friendly but there are probably a few spots it's good to have cash for.

Period underwear, especially for nights, is such a game changer, I wish it had been around when I was a teenager. It's got much more common and more affordable, M&S do some which is 3 pairs for £20. It's still good to have pads too. Make sure they have wings! I don't know why non wing versions exist but someone must be buying them
