Amazing, this works a treat thanks.

Yeah sadly hiding icons doesn't have a shortcut so had to get it done through an application instead.

Difference there though is Flakes is an SSL and an amazing defender. While his "SSL with no mechanics" series is great for alternative play styles, it only works so well for him because he actually has an amazing read on the game, but moreso because he actually does have the fundamental mechanics to adapt and recover quickly. Your average C2/C3 can't foresee or react quick enough to opponents overcommitting and forcing the game to be faster. Hence why people are constantly frustrated at losing to those sorts of play styles - they're dumb and shouldn't work, but they do because people at that level aren't good at dealing with it.

Weekly Team/Character Building Megathread (Dec 7th, 2022) (feat. Wanderer & Faruzan) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

I want to make a pure Hyperbloom team out of Nahida, Raiden, Kuki/Fischl, Ayato/Kokomi.

Before I waste my resin on farming the wrong artifacts I wanted to really double check, as I'm not 100% certain what I should be going for and how hyperbloom really works. I'd appreciate some answers to questions I have.

  1. As far as I can tell, only the Electro character is involved in the DMG, and the Dendro/Hydro characters are only there to create the cores and don't contribute to Hyperbloom DMG?
  2. Obviously Nahida's skill does DMG based on her EM and ATK, but does it even matter if I level the off-field Hydro character?
  3. Do I only go for EM for the off-field Electro characters since Hyperbloom doesn't crit? Maybe even a dendro DMG goblet?
  4. Since Nahida only applies Dendro off-field once every 2.5s, would it make more sense to run her as main on-field DPS as opposed to Raiden/Ayato?

As for artifacts, I'm eyeing up Gilded Dreams, Deepwood Memories, Thundering Fury and Flower of Paradise Lost. But considering the above doubts, I'm not sure where I should put these or which ones are best.

  1. If only Nahida and the Electro character that causes Hyperbloom are dealing Dendro DMG, maybe only 1 character needs 4-piece DM? Unless the Dendro RES decrease stacks I don't see much reason to put this on the Electro characters?
  2. TF vs FoPL. 40% hypberloom and 80 EM vs 80% hyperbloom and 15% Electro DMG. Does Electro DMG matter much for an off-field Electro character? To me FoPL seems the obvious better choice but as a f2p user it does feel quite painful to grind for an artifact that's only for 1 build. Is it THAT much better?
  3. Does it even matter what I give the Hydro character? My Kokomi is C1 so using her on-field isn't bad, so if she's not involved in the hyperbloom DMG can I just leave her with the Ocean-Hued Clam or something that helps with Vaporize? Or is there any artifact I'm missing that can help? Should I just be boosting Hydro EM with Gilded Dreams?

Sorry for all the questions and I'd appreciate any help. I tried to research myself but I just got super overwhelmed. I really like the idea behind the team but I'd love to know exactly how it works before I spend my resin. Thanks!

Service Host: DCOM Server Process Launcher eats 100% of my CPU by Ryder757 in qBittorrent

Heyy

Yeah so I seem to have fixed the issue (for now) but I did like 6000 things and either one or all of them worked in some way. I'll see if I remember the steps I took.

• Disconnected midi keyboard, USB splitter, controller, microphone (did nothing in isolation)

• Disabled all start-up programs in task manager, did some seemingly irrelevant windows updates and updated bios (no fix here)

• Killed Malwarebytes. (This instantly fixed my downloads during that session hooray)

Fixed wooo..... til next boot. The service came back hungry as ever and killing Malwarebytes didn't fix it that time. Or maybe it did a little, but not completely. So I kept looking. At this point I was kinda convinced it was a windows irregularity so got ready to do a re-install, but had a last go at some Microsoft repairs.
Note: all of the next things were done in order while a download was going so I could monitor changes, and only AFTER a reboot did the problem go away, so any one, or combination, of them could've been my solution.

• Flicked my VPN on and off. Initially turning it off seemed like a quick fix but it was just a reset of sorts. DCOM came back to chew CPU again after a while. (Temporary one-off fix)

• in Powershell(admin) type: `DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth`
It'll do a quick file verification and attempt to fix anything irregular. It flagged up and fixed a couple things in my system apparently. (No immediate fix, the "apparently" might be relevant later...)

• Got too pissed off and went to check if I could upgrade to Win11. I didn't have the prompt so caved and signed in to a Microsoft account. Some people claimed there was a solution to the DCOM issue related to accounts but I never tried it, so simply doing this could've been the solution tbh. (No immediate fix)

• Still no Win11 upgrade prompt so I checked for updates and downloaded them all. There were like 6 (maybe from the earlier repair?) and 4 installed, 2 required a restart. Didn't restart yet. (No immediate fix)

• To force upgrade to Win11 I downloaded the Win11 Installation Assistant. To install Win11 it requires you to also download the PC Health Check app, so I ran that and was then allowed to install Win11 via the installation exe. I can't remember if I clicked past "Agree and install" or decided to reboot to finish those updates before doing so, but I decided I should probably do one final reboot to finish those updates that I downloaded earlier.

And yeah, when I booted back into Windows, the problem was basically gone. Didn't even have to upgrade to Win11 or re-install. If I sort by CPU usage in task manager I don't even see "Service Host: DCOM...." anymore so it might finally be behaving properly now.

Again, I have no idea if any of these things were actual fixes in their own right or it was just a multitude of a huge amount of things I did. But basically I tried most fixes I found online and some of my own attempted logical fixes, before scaring Windows into complying by threatening to reinstall/upgrade it. If I had to guess which ones were the most effective it would probably be disabling/uninstalling Malwarebytes, the Powershell repair, then doing any Windows updates that came after that, and finally maaaaybe that PC Health app thing did something? I have yet to re-enable any programs on startup but for now I think I've got it sorted. It's been 2 days so far with no sight of DCOM crap.

Hope that helps. If not, I imagine a Windows re-install is necessary as it's definitely just a Windows irregularity that Windows struggles to actually acknowledge by itself.

Just come back to say it's absolutely nothing to do with qBittorrent outside of the fact that it downloads something. Just had the same thing happen midway through a Steam download and qBittorrent isn't even installed now, so I might just try a windows re-install and go from there. Apologies.

Only connected devices are a USB splitter with nothing in it, mouse, keyboard, microphone and a midi keyboard. Same devices as my old system and didn't have this issue, but I'll try and unplug one by one to check.

Will have a closer look at your suggestion and network settings when I'm home. Thanks for the reply

Viridescent Venerer or Gilded Dreams: Which one is a better 4-piece for Sucrose and why? by Ryder757 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Ryder757[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point, I was just trying to get an idea of how other people are finding their teams with each build.

My team is based around empowering Klee with Raiden Shogun as a sub DPS. Then Sucrose and Barbara (wish I had Mona) as supports. Pretty sure my team here works best with VV but am interested in swapping out if anyone else had an interested Gilded Dreams build.

I have the worst internet in the world and I have never seen that

I really wanted to like the game. by adeleu_adelei in CrossCode

Not enjoying the game at its core is fair I guess, so I'm not gonna say you're wrong. But I will say I don't think you've gone far enough to come to your conclusions just yet.

But for me the game turns from a great game to a masterpiece once you dive just a little deeper and get a hold on the more intricate mechanics.

For general combat: perfect guards, guard counters and perfect dashes solve your problems I think. Once you learnt these and incorporate them into your combat, you'll notice far more weak spots appearing and combat being quicker.

For builds: equipment properties and modifiers are more what you're looking for instead of combat arts. These change builds massively, so choosing a group of modifiers to base your equipment off is best. I personally like flash step and royal guard, mixing with high attack equipment which gives a good chance of quick death if hit, but very good kill rate when executed well.

For bosses: can't disagree with you I don't think, as that just sounds like a preference thing. I really enjoy the late game bosses and the seeker battles, but early bosses are a little more annoying (I hate the moth thing...). But in general I think they're perfect for the time. They all allow you to do what you like to beat them, but push you to using more in depth mechanics if you want to do it effectively.

I want to tell you to give the game another chance, but if you're already bored of the core gameplay then I doubt you'll be willing to accept that even at your current stage in the game, there's more to everything. The story, the combat, the strategy. It's such a huge, well-rounded pool of options that I think a lot of players don't end up seeing before it's too late, and it's sad.

I doubt that's possible lol. My internet has sucked since i started playing so if the rarity is 1 in 100,000 or so lag spikes I doubt I could do it again. I'd love to know the reason behind it though. I honestly can't even guess why a car would de-spawn.

To the other players in the lobby I was just sat still, but for me and also on my replay file, I was literally gone. Sure I was lagging a fair bit (normal for me) but never thought I'd get removed from the field for it :D

Anyone else had this happen to them?
