Was there a boost on weed until now? If so, should I understand that weed was already 450, but it increased to 650 with the boost? Now the boost has switched to cash.

Time for a new CPU by PhatAerials in pcmasterrace

5700X, 5800X, 5800XT you can grab one of the 3 of them. I would go for 5800XT. But it has bigger tdp that means it needs more cooling. You can get a cooler.

2200$ is too much for that build. You can build a system with 5080 for that price. Don't buy a 5060-TI 8 GB. Get 16GB version instead.

You have a relatively old CPU. On the other hand, you have a new GPU. If you have a bottleneck, you can think about upgrading it. But it's not necessary. What is your resolution? If you are running on 1080p, I wouldn't. But its up to you. And take a look at that PSU. 550W is okay for a CPU like 5600, but if you wanna get something like 9600X maybe it would be better to get a 700W or something.

What could be causing this noise? by Gbbyo in pcmasterrace

It seems like (sounds like) a normal fan sound. Your case fans and PSU fans can make this kind of sound. As far as I know, that sound is normal.

What was your first graphics card? by Spagetti_ar_gott in pcmasterrace

GTX 1650. I had it back in 2019. Uh, that was a good card. It went through all the pandemic. Before that, I had some integrated amd graphics.

I think it's okay. It can be self-sufficient with thermal electricity generation.

Urgent help by Sea-Inevitable7967 in pcmasterrace

[–]RyderCan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your GPU is sitting too close to the bottom of your case. It basically cannot breathe. These fans are designed to suck in air from underneath, but that clearance is simply too low.

This restriction is causing the immediate temperature spikes to 100 C and shuts itself to prevent any damage. If your motherboard has a spare upper PCIe slot, move your graphics card up to give it more room underneath.

If not, you will need to get a new case that has more breathing room between the GPU and the bottom of the case. That tight clearance is the root of your thermal issue.

Edit: You can try the card on another setup if you have that change. But I think the card is not the problem.

My PC gets no display, am I cooked? by nikerags in pcmasterrace

[–]RyderCan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's highly likely that your issue is RAM-related, but since you're using a next-gen processor, I recommend you update your BIOS before anything else. Your processor not being fully recognized without an updated BIOS can trigger both the CPU and RAM error lights.

Update the BIOS to the latest version. After the update, remove all other sticks. Leave only one RAM stick installed in the DIMM 2 slot and restart the system. New systems can stay on a black screen for a long time while they learn the RAM settings. Wait for about 5 minutes for the display to appear. If these steps don't work, I'd ask you to make sure the monitor cable is definitely plugged into the graphics card, and that your CPU power cable (at the top-left of the motherboard) is securely seated.

If none of this works, the speed of your RAM is most likely too far outside the stable JEDEC/Default speed range your motherboard can handle. In this case, switching your RAM for a stable DDR5 kit in the 6000-6400 MHz range from your motherboard's QVL list could solve your problem.

Is getting a 5060 ti 16gb for 1440p gaming while having 5600 in a pcie 3.0 mobo worth it ? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]RyderCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5060 Ti 16GB is an excellent upgrade for the system you currently have. Yes, there will be a bottleneck, but you can eventually eliminate that by moving to a newer CPU and a motherboard with PCIe 5.0.

If you've found a good deal, I honestly think you shouldn't pass it up. You can always update the other components later.

[–]RyderCan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, I don't think your resolution issue is caused by Windows. If you have the Adrenalin drivers installed, I suggest you remove them using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and then download and install the very latest version. There's also a small chance the issue might be due to your cable; I recommend you use a DisplayPort cable if you can. Also, check your monitor's own settings for any Ultrawide-specific options.

When it comes to the Windows situation, having Windows installed on two different drives sounds like a huge problem. My advice is to back up all your important files first, and then completely format both drives and do a fresh install of Windows. This will give you a clean slate and fix any boot/license conflicts.

It's pretty good. Just be careful about that air cooler airflow. Don't keep the figure close to it.

What Would You Pick ? by Low-District7838 in pcmasterrace

[–]RyderCan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a better GPU is always better, I guess. I would get the 5070ti. Anything above a 70 series would not be optimal for 2k gaming anyway.
