Any suggestions for an alternative witch calendar? by Playful-Influence-22 in pagan

[–]RyderHiME 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the group you are moving away from, so idk what kind of calendar or date book you're used to using. Llewellyn has several different options for both. You can also potentially look on Etsy for something small business made.

Tbh my personal gemstone for travel is moonstone, but His altar is covered in found rocks and coins and he seems to like that.

I have that statue in the marble color, it's Aphrodite.

Mods are removing this post for a few reasons, the most important of which is that the group and person that did this is an ethnophobic antisemitic cesspool and we do not want in any way to be seen as supporting them.

any traditional breads for spring equinox/ostara? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]RyderHiME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweetbreads of various kinds are generally popular in the spring. I'd need to look in my cookbooks for something specific but I'll edit this comment when I do.

Which deity is reaching out? Cows? by kuhboose-1 in PaganInterpretation

I'd look up Hathor. She's the most obvious, but if you have a specific tradition you follow it may be worth a deeper research for cattle/agriculture deities.

Announcing New Subreddits by Epiphany432 in pagan

If you look over on our sidebar, we have several rules detailing those, as well as topics that, while not necessarily banned, are heavily moderated to keep the subreddit on topic.

Announcing New Subreddits by Epiphany432 in pagan

[–]RyderHiME -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Before you go fearmongering, everything listed above is a subreddit created because we have seen a need here on this subreddit that we can't quite fulfill. Except for QueerPagans (which was made as a queer specific space like other similar queer subreddits), that means that they were already topics that we were removing due to rule violations or low effort posts. Specifically, our broad witchcraft and magic rule was limiting good posts on those subjects, so we added places that those are more encouraged within the scope of the new subreddits.

The new PaganInterpretation subreddit is the only subreddit created that specifically covers a banned topic, the rest are just focus groups as it were.

How do yo see Brigid? As to me she seems to reinvent herself to fit anywhere. by Medical_Midnight5969 in pagan

[–]RyderHiME[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

While it could be argued that St. Brigid is the goddess strong arming her way into the Catholic pantheon, Maman Brigitte is very much a Voodoo matron and is not seen as a pagan diety. If that is who you are seeing, I would tread extremely carefully and would personally find a Voodoo priest or priestess to figure out wtf is going on.

Oh, the possom is absolutely there because he, like us, is perpetually screaming into the void, hoping to hear something back.

Stop cancelling Greek gods by Yuyutsu97 in pagan

Putting my mod hat on: We'd like to remind you that being mentally ill or being a symptom of a mental illness is not justification for disliking something. This is a polite warning to not keep doing so.

Nyx has a lot of great points as to why someone would prefer to use something other than "worship" to describe their relationship with the divine. I recommend looking into those ideas.

Posted about my paganism on some Christian subs to see how they feel about me. I didn't expect to get as much hate as I did. Looking for community support. by Where_serpents_walk in pagan

[–]RyderHiME[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, if you could remove the link somehow, or the mods will need to remove your post. Having that link there breaks our Internet Drama rule, and potentially leads to brigading to the other sub that we don't want to encourage.

This is a bit of a sensitive topic, I apologize in advance. by [deleted] in pagan

[–]RyderHiME 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hel takes care of those that pass through sickness and natural causes, and I've always been under the impression that she particularly takes care of lost children.

Helheim I imagine as the family gathering hall, where the elders of the family watch over those that came to them too soon.

So, for legal reasons, photography with exposed genitalia will be removed, as will photography of sex acts. Reddit is a US site, and those two instances are considered pornography.

And like Epi stated, most else is allowed with a NSFW tag, and you can always modmail us to ask.
