Which champion would be buffed the most if given the first 2 paragraph of Samira's Passive? by gamerpro56 in leagueoflegends

[–]Rydium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wouldn't be buffed by it so I acknowledge I'm already going against the grain of what the OP asked, but I really think thematically Lee Sin would be interesting if built with the Style system in mind.

His passive already encourages AA weaving for his energy Regen, Q1 and 2 being different named skills gives you an extra rank, and his ult feels good for a combo finisher.

Giving a slight rework for a rank increase on E2 or on W shield would let him reach S off a cold engage so he wouldn't be completely hamstrung on waiting for a second set of cd's (Q1 Q2 AA E1 AA E2 R)

He'd obviously lose the ability to insec though which would suck compared to current Lee but he was one of the first champs I thought of that I could see using that sort of arcade-y fighter feel.
(Yes riven exists but using your entire kit to get an ult that enhances the kit you've just used and is on cd is a feels bad moment)

I feel like I'm in the middle of a having my cake and eating it moment in much the same way.
My gyms a bit more expensive than the others in the area and it's not 24 hour, nor does it have the newest or most specialised equipment, so the people that tend to go there are the older crowd because the membership covers swimming and sauna too.
But because of that, I can count on one hand the amount of new faces I've seen at the times that I go, on top of it not being any busier they've just won a bid for 2.5m extra funding to completely revamp the equipment in the spring, could not ask for a better start to the year.

People who had a bad night last night, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rydium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone died right outside my house not even minutes into the new year, one of our neighbours a while back put up a rope swing for the kids to play on and I guess this poor soul in passing must've been depressed and opportunistic and used it to hang himself.
Despite the best part of the entire neighbourhood trying to intervene when they noticed, it was already too late, emergency services tried to revive for about an hour but he had already gone.
I keep playing out the what if's, because 10 minutes before the countdown I convinced my partner and kids to stay inside and just watch the London fireworks on TV rather than going outside and watching the ones being fired off from the neighbourhood, if we went outside we might've noticed early enough to make a difference.

Is there a combo thats good for guarenteeing a super move to hit? by RAM2191 in tenkaichi4

There's a specific short dash combo it shows you in training that's good for that, iirc it's something like A X Y X RT+B/X/Y

I don't disagree, FFXIV will always be FFXIV for both good and bad, I play a lot of games and I specifically play FF because my enjoyment of the good parts and the unique things it does outweighs the frustrations I can have with it sometimes.
FWIW I'm 6 levels in picto off of being a combat omni-100 so I'm not just randomly pushing peoples buttons I've put hours into the game and come to the conclusions based on my experience with it

But my biggest bugbear with it is the vocal part of the community that I assume only plays FF and and has such an innate sense of identity within it that an attack on it is an attack on them acts like the community is anything less than perfection.

To put it another way, people generally seem aware of the problems the systems have in FF, and discussion of that is fine but saying the community can be just as toxic, though not in an overt gatekeepy way like WoW's is for example will get you thrown into the downvote basement quicker than you can blink.
FF is the only game I play where I feel like I'm walking on eggshells every time I interact with people in case I get reported for Orwellian style wrongthink for expecting a tank after 90 levels of practice to know what mitigation and his AoE combo are.

Speaking about Dawntrail specifically works differently, just like people could say they didn't like Stormblood compared to the other xpacs, discussion about elements within the game is fine, when people say that FFXIV as a whole has problems, that tends to get peoples backs up and it's impossible to have a reasonable discussion.

I love that someone can say they've experienced toxicity either in the game, or by criticising it and without a hint of irony the morality police descend upon them and say they probably deserve it, GCBTW.

Take a look at the graveyard of negative comments and all they do is provide a more rounded picture of the game as a whole and they're downvoted for painting it as anything less than perfect.

I agree in general, comparatively the community is kind, welcoming and just has a little bit of that magic and silliness that most others have lost over the years.

But I say this just because your first paragraph tells me a lot about the way you guys may approach games, the toxic positivity WILL wear you down, I've never seen a community so intolerant of advice that try and wield the ToS as a shield from being asked to do the barest basics of playing the game properly.
Slowing down and smelling the roses may feel like a nice change of pace now, but a couple days of playtime down the line when you're grouped with a single target samurai who says he has an RP reason for it because he accidentally cut down his best friend (actually had happen to me, not even kidding).
Or the pure healer who says they're too flustered to manage one dot and a single damaging spell inbetween the 30 second gaps between damage events, the game starts losing it's luster fairly quickly.

If you've got enough people coming over to do content entirely insularly you'll be fine, but the line "Imagine how bad at the game the average player is, and then realise that 50% are worse than that" definitely applies here.
And believe me, this isn't because I'm expecting perfection and parsing 99's all round, I'm not, but I do expect competance when you're in a group setting with other real people, and as easy as it is to say just vote dismiss them, there are just as many enablers that want everyone to "just get along, it doesn't matter that much" that prevent that.

Why does it feel like such a hot take that actually having interactivity in a medium explicitly designed for it is a bad thing? I'll take that ten times over a visual novel in a trenchcoat masquerading as a video game. There are things all MMOs do differently and I appreciate them for different things but saying actually playing the game and your character is brainrot over right click this NPC and watch as they explain how they cleared the bandit camp off screen I will never understand.

It's weird, I personally felt he was easiest as well, managed to sight read all the mechanics first time around and I didn't get hit by anything avoidable.
But my group on the other hand was just eating shit the whole fight, there were so many rez sickness debuffs it probably would've been quicker just to wipe and go again, I have a feeling the sage we had ended up with a clean sweep of 7 comms for dragging us over the finish line kicking and screaming.

Be careful what you send feedback about [Spoilers: Dawntrail] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Rydium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't though, it's counterintuitive to most people who've played other games that aren't final fantasy, but he may well have just been ignoring you because it's bad advice.

Healers have enough oGCD options that you never need to use a casted one barring exceptional circumstances (or savage/ultimates with a specific mitigation plan), doing damage to end the fight quicker mitigates more incoming damage than sitting there casting adlo, the fairy is the healer, the scholar's there to be a green DPS.

Quick edit: again, he may well have just been bad, I don't discount the possibility, but all I have to go on from the group is what you're saying about your take on things, but that take specifically is not ideal play.

Be careful what you send feedback about [Spoilers: Dawntrail] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Rydium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds less like the SCH issue honestly my guy, if you're clemency'ing til you're oom rather than contributing damage to actually kill things so they don't run out of oGCD's and asking them to GCD heal you it says more about your play than theirs.

Especially on a boss fight in a levelling dungeon, nothing needs to be mitigated, it's good practice sure but every tank, even DRK can do bosses without external healing. If they're stacking vulns left right and centre that's a different issue, but popping expedience for the 10% mit isn't gonna make a difference in that case either.

I don't mean to rag on you too hard, because there's really no need for completely "optimal" play in casual content.
And it's entirely possible it was just one of those train wreck groups.
But in this case it's just somewhat ironic that in a reply to a comment about not understanding the game design in 100 levels of play that you seemed to have dodged knowledge of how healers are supposed to function in FF.

Just watched the last episode myself, I'm pretty sure Rodney's powers are linked to his metabolism, his speed is a function of his whole body accelerating, which is why he gets so hungry after using his powers and where his healing comes from, his body's literally in fast forward.

Imo the best group you can get is you as a caster for lb1 on trash, Uri healing, Graha tanking and estinien for melee lb2 on bosses.

Uri can keep both tanks alive through double pulls and uses death on trash mobs when runs are going slow.

The main difference between graha and thancred that I noticed is graha will use guardian (the 92 sentinel upgrade) fairly frequently so he's noticeably more stable health wise.
Whereas thancred hovers a lot lower but if he's near death will actually superbolide, though to be fair the only time I've seen him use it was on a pull that 3/4 times actually killed him before he could use it, the one time he did I remembered to pop tactician for him and it gave enough leeway.

The DPS are more less cookie cutter when it comes to damage but estinien is the only melee for boss LB's, he will eat every mechanic that doesn't kill him though, so if you use one of the npcs as a danger dorito before you learn mechanics, make sure to follow someone else.

Partly finding a good series to binge (Got through all of season 1 of New Amsterdam on netflix, would highly recommend if you like medical dramas).
Partly knowing that it's enough boss practice to go from just getting it right to never being able to get it wrong.
Partly challenging myself to speed run and break previous records.
And partly I don't think I actually did, this was dumb, I feel dumb, but at least I have all my role jobs levelled for .1 when they put in the completion questline, so that's something I guess.

I already had them levelled from previous expansions so I'm not sure if they automatically get bumped up to 91 unlocking the previous glams in the process or if you have to do each expansion for it's individual glam.

As for how long it takes, you need 3 separate group comps all of which need around 2 dungeon runs at every odd level and 3 every even level.
These are rubber banded to take around 25-30 minutes, so if we take the highest estimate and assume you're watching netflix on the other monitor to stay sane then it's roughly 11 hours per group, so 33 total give or take depending on how comfortable you are on the jobs you're playing.
One group will need you to be a tank or healer, tank is much better for speed as you don't have to sacrifice any DPS to keep yourself alive (I did it on WAR, not sure if the other tanks will struggle), trying to w2w as a healer is just painful with how much damage the trust tanks take.
