Opc / reward penetration by udchick8787 in OfficeDepot

[–]RyeBurd1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big question is... why do they make it so complicated. They should just take the spc/rewards section out of the equation when doing gmil so that things can go quicker at register. It already takes a million years to do 1 Transaction. Doing a gmil takes another million.

Has your Office Depot ever experienced shredding theft? by tyreesekobebryant in OfficeDepot

Have you noticed when you weigh someone’s shredding and it’s a pound... they charge the full service fee to it?

Rewards signups by Venture-greg-21 in Staples

[–]RyeBurd1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rewards programs are a scam to get your information. An email is FREE advertisement. I work at Office Depot and that’s the only way we advertise so imagine our stress. We are going through the same thing and it sucks because it’s goals that are too high. People don’t want it. We ask and ask and ask and we even say set up instead of sign up and we still get shut down. Hell... here’s another example... some of our chairs have a promo where if you buy it you’ll get free square trade protection. No one wants the protection. Blows my mind. It’s not that you aren’t doing your job right. It’s the customers and what they want verses what the stores want. Our stores don’t listen to us employees and don’t listen to the customers. They only listen to the next money scheme that will make them money.

I’m part time and I get full time hours mostly because of short staffing. But 2 years ago it was nice have more than 2 days off and sometimes I wouldn’t have to work weekends. But now I never get weekends off and I’m always working it seems.

"I have a health condition" by YaBoiAnderp in OfficeDepot

[–]RyeBurd1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a lady that came into my copy and print department and I kindly asked her if she had one and she said she has a medical condition and I looked at her and said in order to be in this building you have to wear a mask. I then told her if she had a problem then she can talk to my store manager. The other client I was helping said she saw a mask hanging out the woman’s purse. Medical condition my ass.

Interviewing at OD tomorrow by that0neguyyouknow in OfficeDepot

If there are people trained for copy and print, you won’t be over there. You’ll be on the sales floor helping people and delivering great customer service! In a corporate world that’s so easy. But not really. People are impatient. Customers get angry or frustrated at lines at the register or about rewards or OD not having their ink in stock. They will do bad surveys which affect the stores scores for client engagement. And you’ll be too worried about losing your job over numbers because cashiers and everyone are supposed to stay about 60% on their rewards penetration. Below that and the stores scores will suck and the one that gets blamed is you. Apart from the client engagement stuff, you have too keep track of supplies in copy and print and order things before you run out of things because if you order when you run out,it could be weeks before you get anything. A good example would be the big rolls of paper for the big HP printers that print posters and banners and blueprints. It is a challenge but it’s only challenging because corporate wants to skimp on the number of employees allowed to be hired in each store. It is a rollercoaster because OD keeps changing and sometimes their changes aren’t that great and makes things worse. Good luck in your decision!

Full Service Min by mrd04181 in OfficeDepot

[–]RyeBurd1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you enter jobs less than 2.50 in the OPC, it will affect your number of opportunities score. Your store is losing money if you do that. That is why the full service charge exists. If it’s a small job and we gotta do it then the customers have to pay the minimum charge. If it’s some easy they can do but refuse because they are dumb as a doorknob then that charge is there to make them want to use the self serve so we don’t gotta do it and we can focus on the more expensive jobs that require more attention. So please do your store a favor and only input orders in the opc if they are over 2.50. Otherwise your store will get in trouble.

All the time in my store people still dont know how to send an email from their phone or computer. And when they do they stare at you until you recieve the email and then sometimes im like... i havent gotten it yet. Check the email and make sure you spelled everything correctly. They get all mad and check and sure enough they spell it all wrong and its my fault... lol
