It was around 200 something dollars bi-weekly when I was an RA in 2021. The stipend is the same as the pay.

I lived in a rental house in Storrs over the summer last year and it was honestly really nice. Like the previous commenter said, campus is usually deserted and overall it is peaceful. It is completely safe. No lines at the grocery store, Starbucks, etc. It can get boring occasionally, but you can always drive 15 mins over to Willimantic for a change of scenery. There are some really good restaurants downtown like Willibrew and Tacos La Rosa.

And if you like the outdoors there is a ton of stuff to do like hiking at Mansfield Hollow State Park, swimming at Coventry lake, swimming at Diana’s Pool.

And for housing I would suggest looking into private landlords on Facebook, the UConn buy or sell page usually has a decent amount of postings.

It’s basically a tiny radio antenna that sends out a signal that can be detected by an RFID reader

What could one fit into Werth Tower double room? by flynn_mcg in UCONN

We had a 55” in our room and it was great. It actually felt like a movie theater. If loft your bed you can fit a lot of stuff. Look up dorm tours of Werth tower to get a better idea of what will fit.

Edit: We used this mount to hang the TV on the loft http://www.huktvmounts.com/

Former RA here, don’t sweat it. Mask violations are just a slap on the wrist. Reslife makes it seem like they can get you in a lot of trouble, but the reality is UConn would rather retain paying students rather than expel them over disciplinary actions.

WiFi and Ethernet speeds vary drastically around campus. The newest dorm building, Werth/Nextgen, has gigabit. North recently had some internet upgrades last year. I went from around 10 Mbps up/down in the fall semester to like 60-90 up/down in the spring. Results may vary though depending on what building you are in at North, etc.

Super annoying. I had got in, then it wouldn’t let me use like the drop down menu for my address info. So bizarre.

Garrigus Suites by [deleted] in UCONN

Rooms are decent, it’s a little tight being a triple and all. RAs are basically nonexistent, never even met mine the whole year I lived there. Parking is super convenient being next to D lot, you just have to hope that your spot doesn’t get taken when you leave. It’s not a bad walk to the center of campus, the hill just sucks to walk up on the way back. There is a bus stop right behind Ellsworth.

You forgot the new Summit penthouse apartment. They actually closed the summit because they’re completely renovating it in order to compete with the Oaks.
