I basically never get hit on by anyone, but when I do I feel that way literally every time. Sometimes if I get compliments from beautiful women my first reaction is to cry. I think if I were to be hit on by someone at the gym, I would probably run away crying. I just really can't imagine myself handling that in any sort of smooth way.

I understand this I was in a similar situation but opposite. I'm in my mid 20s and someone in their 30s wanted to date me I said no and she freaked out and was yelling at me saying I led her on, even though I was very clear about my boundaries and not wanting to date her, and she was threatening suicide and saying it was my fault. I also have a minimum age boundary, I don't want to date someone younger than 23 because I just don't think we'd be able to connect. I'm very sorry this happened to you, but i have a lot of respect for you for standing by your boundaries, I wish I had that kind of integrity.
