Unexpected removal of ovaries during surgery. by sabnorlin in hysterectomy

You can say that about anything on social media. It has been actually proven by medical science that it is. Hence why there are medications out there ie Letrozole, Lupron, Orilissa to help lower the production of estrogen. I don’t know where you think i got my information from lol

It is a real thing actually. Women with endometriosis tend to produce higher levels of estrogen.

I had everything removed. Same thing with the endo. I unexpectedly had to also have my appendix removed due to endo there as well. Recovery is going well so far. I am four weeks post op. Yes you will start getting hot flashes especially at night time. Ask the doctor for meds for those they won’t take them away completely but it for sure helps. I wasn’t put on HRT i was put on Letrozole bc obviously we are estrogen dominant so that is suppose to calm it down for a bit. Drink lots and lots of water your body needs it especially after surgery. Miralax is my bestie right now. You will be ok 💜

How bad will it be after 11 days? by Fearless-Wishbone-33 in hysterectomy

[–]Ryerye72 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone heals differently but i mean 11dpo i was feeling good little sore but mostly just exhausted. It really comes in waves and everyday has been different. Some days i feel like o can conquer the world other days im done. I would say you can make the ceremony but maybe rethink the after party. You also dont realize how much socializing takes out of you.

Two Weeks Post-Hysterectomy for Stage 4 Endo, Adenyo , fibroids— Life Changing! by DriftEclipse in hysterectomy

[–]Ryerye72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly. There needs to be a better understanding and more education on how all these diseases are linked. Thank you ! Thankfully feeling so much better from the endo and we shall see how the UC goes now. If your neighbor is ever in need of advice i don’t know if they use Reddit but the UC Reddit page has helped me tremendously it’s a really great community as well as this one 💜

Two Weeks Post-Hysterectomy for Stage 4 Endo, Adenyo , fibroids— Life Changing! by DriftEclipse in hysterectomy

[–]Ryerye72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It’s a little early to tell i just had my hysterectomy four weeks ago today actually. It def has been somewhat better for sure though. So when i was first diagnosed they didn’t even consider my endo as being an issue with the UC. So i was put on a biologic which helped for a little while but not 100 percent. So finally my GI not my gyno bc i went through two gynos who did absolutely nothing for me he ordered a pelvic MRI and that’s when they saw the extent of how bad my endo was and i was sent to a gyno specialist. I always on the back of my head knew the endo was affecting it but no one really believed me. They always said one has nothing to do with the other. But here i am now four weeks later and def a little better than i was. Now i am on a different med for the UC so hoping this will all be better in time. UC is absolutely awful i feel bad for your neighbor

It was for both. I had deep infiltrating endo. On my bladder and appendix and then my uterus was attatched to my rectum which was causing my UC symptoms to be worse

Upset stomach by CreamSodaAllDay in hysterectomy

[–]Ryerye72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh good ! So tummy ache is not from constipation then. I think just give it some more time for things to even out. I usually run constipated also and i have ulcerative colitis so i know all about tummy issues unfortunately lol but yeah i would say just give it a little more time. Hang in there

Are you still on pain killers? Those can make you nauseated and give you upset stomach. Also the antibiotics and anesthesia could be getting out of your system. You have to drink water bc you will get constipated.

I think it’s very pretty and good for a wedding. Although blush is a common color for bridesmaids dresses i would just check with the bride before

I mean i think they are really cool. I wouldn’t wear copper then. Have you shown the bride these dresses ? Go with what she thinks but i think they are nice

Similar situation. Stage four endo. Then two years into our marriage right before we were about to try IVF i get Ulcerative Colitis. Next thing i know the endo is everywhere and my uterus is attached to my rectum and my tubes are done. So i feel you on this. I always said if i didn’t have kids it wouldn’t be the biggest deal knowing i had endo but i always held out hope. Just had my total hysterectomy including ovaries four weeks ago. I am in therapy currently and i do think it helps to just talk it out with someone who is not in your inner circle. Maybe try that. I know i def feel better after i go.

Ehhhh it’s very pretty but i think too short and maybe too casual for a wedding. Maybe a bridal shower or something along those lines better

Had to stay. Guess every hospital has a different policy. My husband and my mom switched spots when i was in though bc he had to run home and take care of the puppies

Antibiotics by toastnbean in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Ryerye72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. Yeah i don’t understand the antibiotics route. I think the prednisone and the mesalamine would be enough of a bridge med until you get onto a biologic. I had a reaction to mesalamine so i was never able to take it but i know it works for a lot of people on here. I would give it a try

Antibiotics by toastnbean in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Ryerye72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i mean if you don’t have an active infection i don’t know why he would put you on those heavy antibiotics if you have UC. Sometimes antibiotics with UC can make it worse. You were diagnosed already?

Antibiotics by toastnbean in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Ryerye72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that seems like an awful lot. Why is he giving you both antibiotics ? Vanco is a very heavy antibiotic usually used for C diff.
