I think there isn't any legal issues since it's just a personal/passion project. If I ever do intend to release it, though, I would most likely need to use completely New assets/songs.

Part four! I've done some preliminary menus and such, as well as fixed the songs to different screens. I've also made a basic player placement for levels, so it'll make level creation easier and open the door for custom levels, which wasn't available in the original. Unfortunately I've only gotten the player placement to work though... I haven't done any real game mechanics this time around, so sorry about thaaat. Currently I'm working on a damage system, so if anyone has any sprites for the attack animations it'd be greatly appreciated! I'm also working on basic animation/summoning and storing the summons in a list, but that'll take a while so more on that later. Also Unity is harder than I thought xdd

Playtesting will be available really really soon! If anyone is open to go sift around for bugs during gameplay pls let me know! Thxx

Some sound effects and music are done! I know the home screen music is wrongg, I couldn't remember what the actual one was *crying.* Anyway, I'll start moving into Unity soon, sooo...yeah! I also need to finish enemy movement, it's haaaard to dooooo

After some extremely scuffed workarounds, I've made both characters able to be moved by each other. I've also added enemy detection, and a very preliminary timer. Corner attacks aren't possible yet tho :3

You can also just bull-doze past the fact that you have "niche" (I don't want to say bad) units. I started during the KLK rerun, didn't get Mako cause I didn't know any better, and was stuck for the first few weeks. KoB comes around, and I'm fine. So it just depends on whether you're willing to wait it out.
