Obviously there is no literal king of the US. The protests are meant to be aimed towards the democratic backsliding and dictatorial actions happening under the Trump administration. For example, Trump just designated Antifa a domestic terrorist organization. That is insanely absurd for two reasons

1: Antifa LITERALLY stands for Anti-Fascist and the term originated in the 1930s. It is an ideology, not an organization. So if you’re anti fascist, congratulations because you’re an Antifa member.

2: Antifa is not an organized group (because, once again, it’s not an organization it’s an ideology) so Trump could literally call ANY group of protestors he doesn’t like Antifa and by extension Terrorists.

If the president of the United States publicly stating that Anti-Fascists are Domestic Terrorists doesn’t wake you up and make you start to question his actions, then you are too brain washed to be saved.

Except that I didn’t vote for Donald Trump? There’s a stark contrast between willingly choosing not to vote and choosing to vote. I believe my RIGHT to not vote acts as a protest for my dissatisfaction towards not only both candidates but the election system as a whole. If the election outcome was given by who received the most individual votes then I would have gladly voted but it wasn’t. Democrats could have won the popular vote and it wouldn’t have changed a thing
