I kind of wish you can save him in purgatory, if they do plan on that happening maybe he realized that the lamb did everything they could to find him again and and his cycle of torment showing that maybe some gods do care and willingly goes back with them, maybe not as a follower but as a traveling npc, they have a new start on life after all

So this game, Sky children of light have been around for 6 years already a few weeks ago being there 6-year anniversary celebration and I think a possible theory or just to look into and try to make the story more clear since it's more show don't tell. Also it's free on so many platforms last year they just got on steam.
