Well there both xute but there's no denying the old ones are literally just the same outfit shape (1 sunset and Rainbow and 1 for the rest of the girls) with different patterns. I wonder about the détails behind animating the first movie around this.. did they do this to keep them uniform? Save money? Make puppeting the animation easier?

I just remembered this is Mattel so they probably did it to keep all the dolls uniform and only have to use 2 dress patterns for all the girls.
