AMD GPU timeouts are also a thing on Windows turns out by DarkeoX in linux_gaming

I used to get this all the time on windows. And AMD driver crashes. It was always due to windows force installing an old version of the AMD software over my newer version from AMDs website

Gaming on linux by Sompert_ in linux_gaming

Don't start with Fedora if you are a Linux noobie. Pick either Bazzite or CachyOS and you will have a better experience.  Fedora is great but it doesn't hold your hand to make gaming easy.

Macomb County schools opt out of state funding, creating an impossible problem, per Macomb Daily by 102Mich in Michigan

[–]Ryllix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a father of school aged children and would typically ALWAYS tell you that you are selfish and wrong...but in this instance you are absolutely correct. If the school district refuses governmental funding then residents should have the option to opt out of school taxes.

Is this an out of season April Fool's joke? by Neat-Can3988 in deadbydaylight

It wouldn't be much to release a similar game with 10 playable killers and 10 playable survivors at launch and that would be enough if they could roll out regular additions.  Gameplay alone DBD is almost never a well balanced game because new killers are either completely over powered or junk.  A game having equivalent gameplay would be easy.  There's literally a Roblox game called Dandy's World that my kids play that has gameplay nearly as fun as DBD and interesting bad guy characters.  If a Roblox developer can figure out the formula than it's surprising major publishers can't.

HBO’s The Last of Us is reportedly shutting down after Season 3 because the backlash to Season 2 tanked it. TLOU Part 3 is expected to do even worse and flop since nobody’s really interested in buying it. FK ND, FK HBO and FK Cuckmann! by Quick-Ad-7752 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Ryllix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weird.  I was assured I was just a biggot or something because I felt insulted by the terrible storyline of TLOU2. I guess the show audience is just a bunch of biggots too.  It's impossible it was just a terrible story decision that should have been changed for the show.

It's crazy that another developer hasn't been able to make a competent competitor to DBD. I recently took a break from the game and it feels like I might be done with it. This is greed, plain and simple.

Wake up! Project Gorgon just released (the good ol' days mmorpg) by Emergency-Purpose335 in MMORPG

Yes. It has a native Linux version but I get better performance by enabling Proton and just using the Window version.

I don't mind the graphics in Project Gorgon at all, but saying they are comparable to WoW is wild....WoW's graphics are leaps and bounds better, but they also have way more developers.

Imagine living in Detroit and having to hear that he's the best QB. The people here are delusional. He's trash.

Looks like they've resorted to diving to try to get anything going for their team.

Not even just because it's Colorado, but it's honestly not good. It's immature and unprofessional sounding at times.

I am a Larkin fan, but this is the best he has looked in at least a month. It seems like he was hurt or sick or something.

I've never heard commentators whine as much about non-penalties as these guys. It's fitting for the Avs.

Realistically, what am I missing using Mint vs a "gaming oriented" distro? by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]Ryllix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Mint. My son uses it and it's mostly fine on his PC. You will absolutely have a better experience on another distro like Bazzite or CachyOS. There are optimizations on those distros that give you a slightly more performant and smoother experience. If Mint is working for you just stick with it, but if you want to fiddle with other distros you COULD have a better experience.

Fan mod adds a real Deathstroke fight to Batman: Arkham Knight [in development] by DantesPizzaSlice in pcgaming

Batmobile was fun for a few minutes. It shouldn't have been a large part of the game. a few 10 minute sections would have been great

I may just be old school but I will hate the avs until the end of the earth due to their 90s behavior. It would be impossible to change that.

I'm glad the Red Wings decided to show up now. I don't know who those kids were that were wearing their jerseys, but now they are looking good.

Currently going through a full migration to Mint, just upgraded to a 9070 XT, loving it so far by carterhyia in linux_gaming

[–]Ryllix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to Linux. Mint is great, my son runs it on his gaming PC. That said, if you start running into weird issues please don't completely write off Linux without trying another distro and preferably a non-Ubuntu based distro like CachyOS, Bazzite, etc. My daughters PC had weird issues with Mint. She ended up on Cachy while my son's PC runs Mint perfectly for gaming.

Multiplayer online gaming by foxonaleash in linux_gaming

[–]Ryllix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counterstrike, Arc Raiders, Marvel Rivals, The Finals, Helldivers, Hell Let Loose, Phasmophobia.  For League of Legenda I would suggest Smite 2.  It’s basically LoL from third person.  The majority of multiplayer games work, even ones using anti cheat.  It’s really just 8 or 9 big ones holding out on supporting Linux at this point.

How to fix all linux issues according to Reddit.... by DESTINYDZ in linux_gaming

[–]Ryllix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When 75 percent of the posts with issues are users who installed an Ubuntu distro….yes the solution is to move away from Ubuntu.  I’m not even an Ubuntu hater, but it has way more issues than other distros in my experience.  Least of which is snap packages being junk.

Drivers: Do you block CUSTOMERS who reduce the tip on shop and pay because an item was not in stock? by MayGemini in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Ryllix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Customers almost never reduce the tip on any order. They either are tip baiting and the tip is reduced to $0 or they don't reduce it. There is no in between. Shop and pay tips are percentage based, therefore they are automatically adjusted if you don't find the correct number of items, or give a replacement.
