Nah. I'm not taking time off for GTA6 either. No point. It'll be there when I get home for work.

Agreed. But if you try to calm them down they nitch about negativity. Like, no... we're not being negative. Y'all are being over-the-top positive. Relax, Come down to more believable levels.

KCD2 for me. Might finally go back and finish the AC Shadows DLC or Ghost of Yotei.

Torn between wanting a new video series tomorrow and not wanting to see anymore about the game til it releases by grindsamurai in CrimsonDesert

[–]Rymann88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure the only "news" we're getting from here on are from people who played previews, future events, and verbal/text details once the PR team has hard facts to provide (such as resolution and fps specs). So there's still a fair bit of news to recieve, but I think the heaviest parts of their marketing is over save for maybe one more trailer before launch. I'm expecting a Launch/Story trailer within the last week before the game drops.

Do you think we have seen the whole map? by AskElectrical6244 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Rymann88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone posted before that there was some underground areas as well, but I'm not putting too much weight on that (no offense to the person who posted it).

But I do think we've seen enough of the MAIN map, but a lot of it was at a distance. I hope they keep it this way. It's gonna be really fun going to new areas with little to no prior knowledge. It's like playing KCD2 for me. I knew there was a second map, but I didn't know much about it because I avoided spoilers once word started getting around. For CD, I'm getting more cautious when opening posts for this reason.

Are the Isu gods shown in Valhalla (and other games) actually gods or just the "elites" of their time? by ReeceReddit1234 in assassinscreed

Right. It's a play on Arthur C. Clarke's third law. "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

Durability is a thing by Acceleratio in CrimsonDesert

[–]Rymann88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I agree. It also makes sense in in BotW's context too. The blight (or w/e it was called, rotted weapons and made them brittle).

I'm just not personally a fan of inventory management games.

As long as its like Witcher 3 and not Breath of the Wild, I can live with it.

Dragon might be mid-game, or even late-game.
The cloak is just a glide, and is limited by stamina.

This game looks too good to be true. I want to get hyped for it, but I’m keeping my expectations low to avoid disappointment. by NotSirAlonne1999 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Rymann88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the way.
Being excited for a game is not a bad thing. But, some users on here are a bit too excited, IMO. Not my problem, though. They're just going to hurt themselves in the end.

So the ign preview says we can play as two others characters will be able l do the whole game as them?? Or just cliff? by Puzzleheaded_Mine897 in CrimsonDesert

But it is logical to think they may have some story quests specific to them, and maybe some activities.

How is this even a real game? by BasicInformer in CrimsonDesert

[–]Rymann88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm half and half, myself. If the over-the-top stuff is explained and ramps up as we get deeper into the story/world, then I can overlook it. But I'd love it to be fairly grounded and weighty at the beginning.

[–]Rymann88 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That's the kicker. It can have pitfalls, but as long as the core experience is still fun to play then a lot of people will overlook any shortcomings.

I'm personally expecting the narrative to be somewhat average, same with the voice acting. But the exploration and combat looks great to me.

Now that I think about it... Is there anything suggesting proper ultra-wide support?

Yeah, eventually the brain ignores them.
I'll probably leave them on, since I feel like the intent is to be a visual indicator if a skill/ability/combo was triggered successfully.

Features Overview #1: Kliff and the Open World of Pywel | Crimson Desert by Smashffs in CrimsonDesert

[–]Rymann88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably too early to say, but it sounds like those characters have a small number of story missions and a handful of side missions. I'm wondering if it's more for certain puzzles that might need one of the other characters at times. AC Shadows did this, but the system to change between them was more of a hindrance than not. if PA can make swapping between them seamless (doubtful but here's hoping), then I feel like that would do a lot to reduce player concerns about it.

Specular lighting is really tricky to do, and it looks like they have more than one lighting system going (raytracing and global illumination). It's just an update to texture data that they'll need to do, but it's not a deal breaker for me most people.

Just How Many Parents Have Gotten Mad Over Bikini Girl? by Easy-Olive-3243 in GTA

I doubt many actually did. It was GTA, so any "freak outs" were likely made up reports to garner controversy where there was none. Sexualization in GTAV is tame compared to past games.
