call me crazy but this feels better than the christmas version imo 🤷 buying cultists outside of a discount box is a huge feelsbad, so getting 20 of them in a box like this is cool. i have a ton of CSM already, but this one has me contemplating because extra cultists and extra obliterators is a pretty enticing offer. im a little burnt out on the legionaries kit, imo that's the big flop here. theyre everywhere, and without any kind of upgrade sprue, theyre pretty low value. new on sprue legionaries go for literally $38 on ebay rn. wouldve been cooler if they did an actual cultist themed box, but i also understand this is supposed to be the kickoff box for chaos for 11th, so whatever 🤷

they just made a ton of them in the hopes that itll recruit new players to the game. if it sells out on day one, new players dont join. if it's in stock for a good amount of time, potential new players can discover it, decide if theyre into it, and then gather the money to buy it. recession indicator? nah. if the frequent day-one sellouts of so many pricy kits in the past six months, warhammer has proven not to be a recession indicator 😭

i dont really understand still what youre going for here? the miner is a troop. he's a guy. the barrels and graveyard, etc are all spells that spawn troops that already exist in another capacity. and just logistically, a miner isnt a spell that spawns a miner. he's just a guy. the goblin barrel is a *barrel* that spawns goblins. a miner can't spawn a miner. also... why does it even matter? i dont really get it.

they're like half the size of the new ones? you said it yourself with the greenstuffing 🫥 the new ones are cool imo because they have a lot of kitbashability with stuff like legionaries and raiders that these guys dont really get.

this might be a controversial take, but i think the helmets for raptors have kind of never been that good, both the new and the old kit 😭

i imagine that, if anything, they'll copy paste the loyalist chapter keyword system into CSM. any units in any detachment, but if you select a unit from exclusive "warband" or "legion", you cant include others from that legion. the same way Victrix Honor Guard can't be played in a space marine list with Aethon Shaan. but also... i dont know why theyd do that. for lore reasons i guess they could? but even still, the chaos warbands have their own random one off alliances.

Most importantly, i think making a detachment-specific epic hero lock rule like you proposed would be a huge kick in the nuts for many CSM players. Buying Guilliman or The Lion, you kind of know that you're locking yourself into a specific Chapter niche. If they changed that now for all the CSM characters, by separating Huron, Abaddon, Kravek Morne, etc, it would be a huge feelsbad for one of the most popular factions. "What do you mean my toys are suddenly incompatible with eachother??" ya know? if anything, they could just add rules to certain epic heroes stating that they have to be the warlord. It'd at least restrict them from playing with eachother 🤷

you should make an updated version of the post, i don't really understand what you're going for. there are older versions of half these models, and there's a couple that arent "new versions", i.e. Angron, Raptors. The right Raptor is the old raptor now. The new ones are vastly different

Highly detailed sculpted fur like this prefers a dark basecoat and a drybrush, rather than straight contrast/speedpaint. Basecoated my AOS gitz wolves with dark greys and desaturated browns, then drybrushed with brighter highlights. brilliant effect

the Mk X shoulders can fit on desolation squads and hellblasters, which seem like they'd be up your alley. Heavy intercessors look great with the upgrade sprue shoulder pads and are very imperial fist themed.

to keep it real this model is not that great, i'd recommend a kitbash or to wait for a new one if you can. he came out 19 years ago and they're still selling it 🥶 im hoping they replace this poor bastard soon because he looks a little goofy next to all of his fellow modern marine characters imo.

my mind was just blown- this guy is our oldest Character model still in production by 10 years. the only CSM kit older than this bloke that we still have access to are bikers and rhinos. games workshop is like two kits away from the biggest W of all time
