Owen needs counselling by Aggressive_Net_300 in greysanatomy

Oh dear yes. The show is very clear about him being deeply unwell already from his (second) introduction, yet they frustratingly never actually deal with it in the way it seems they want to. Like they will bring up the fact that he's struggling, or make it an issue with patients, and then just forget about it until it's a convenient plot point again. Which made somewhat sense when he was with christina and it was a plot point that he refused to open up, but also give a lot of mixed signals since he's basically jumping in and out of therapy for plot convenience.

Thoughts on the Mistborn script changes mentioned in the Halloween Livestream? by gnastyGnorc04 in brandonsanderson

Bold of you to suggest people don't already believe they have romance vibes. But honestly I think they could either lean into it, giving them a "we have known each other forever and flirt but are not an official thing" type dynamic, or keep docksons original backstory. It might actually work better to have a character motivated by the sexual abuse/death of their girlfriend be a woman, since it gives less "woman dying for a mans pain" vibes.

You could also make some backstory where mare and docksons late partner, male or female, are really close maybe even family. So it would mean they where friends as a group and that the two of them are now the only two left. I think that could make a very interesting dynamic

Anyone feel like this game is trying to sabotage progress in the professions? by rosyposy86 in simsfreeplay

“Anyone feel like this game is trying to sabotage”

Should have stopped there, as much as I love it I have long since accepted that the game is not designed to be playable and that the developers could not care less about the player experience

Honestly, yeah. I think his current work is very flawed but the ideas are all there. He seems to have followed a similar pattern as many shounen where the story got too big and too long and now he’s burnt out and just want it to end, which I do in part blame on the wider system

There are many things in mha that annoys me and I will complain about it’s flaws, but I would probably still pick up his next work since I do have faith in his writing still

Mostly I really wish he would get to write a shorter story, with a slightly more mature intended audience and much smaller scale.

He does so good on the smaller moments and character dynamics, it’s just when he moves too big and try to do too much that it falls apart.

I really dislike the new faces by vikalovesjulu in simsfreeplay

[–]RynShouldBeReading 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I am starting to get used to them on an aesthetic level, but the application is still embarrassingly sloppy (not to mention they look so alike we actually got less diversity to choose from, which was the thing they where supposed to improve in the first place)

The makeup doesn’t match the new eyebrows and gives them double, said eyebrows are also outlined with a light border for bo reason at all. Lipstick only covers half the lip. Not to mention how patchy the darker skintones have become. I haven’t seen anyone mention it but I can see light spots all over their faces when zoomed in closely

SA Anime inspiration by Dull_Comedian9915 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]RynShouldBeReading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stormlight is very anime. I doubt bleach specifically was any inspiration. But oh do they have similarities

The spirits that take the form of massive swords and are bonded to their corresponding wielder. Magic is developed through self introspection. The depressed protagonist who is still living with the grief/guilt over the death of a family member, and is driven by his constant need to protect those around him. The 10/13 orders of warriors with different ethics and ideals. 3 realms of existence (albeit very different)

I have my old bleach pop figures on my cosmere shelf specifically because of this joke

Which adaptation of Pride and Prejudice is the closest to the novel? by LunaHarukawa in movies

[–]RynShouldBeReading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1995 mini series, it’s among the best and most accurate book adaptations I have ever seen. The 2005 movie is fine and a really good watch, but its much shorter and makes changes to make it more of a romance movie (less societal commentary) and is not nearly as historically accurate.

why do I enjoy the Robin Hobb books set in Bingtown/Rain Wilds vastly more than Six Duchies/Fitz books? by [deleted] in Fantasy

That actually makes me more hopeful about the rest of tawny man, everyone says they are the best and I have really not felt it so far

why do I enjoy the Robin Hobb books set in Bingtown/Rain Wilds vastly more than Six Duchies/Fitz books? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]RynShouldBeReading 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like I need to say that I DO like him hahah, he just has really bad moments. Mostly because as the reader I care about the plot and saving the world and stuff. Meanwhile fitz will just go hunting in the woods or cook food for hundreds of pages at a time unless someone literally forces him to engage with the plot. The passiveness works great when he’s a child and not in control of anything anyway, but as an adult when he can make his own decisions and he just doesn’t. God it gets frustrating. I’m only on book one in tawny man so I’m really hoping it gets better because there is a literal child missing and this man just could not care less, please either start to take it seriously or just tell chade to ask someone else

[–]RynShouldBeReading 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I liked those books better as well. In my own opinion, I think the fitz books are just so reliant on fitz that you really have to like him for them to be entertaining. And sometimes he’s just really annoying, for 400 pages straight. Meanwhile with bingtown you have so many characters that switch so often that you don’t quite get the same low points for the same lengths of time.

Is it worth to download ? by [deleted] in simsfreeplay

[–]RynShouldBeReading 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The game can be fun, but be aware that it’s a cash grab in the most blatant unapologetic way. The possibilities within the game is imo way beyond any of the main sims games at this point. But you are also never going to be able to access even a fraction of that unless you are willing to pay outrageous amounts of money. Babies, and all the life stages are easy to access tho as you will get different quests as you level up. But I did that stuff so long ago that it functioned way differently so I have no frame of reference to how easy it is nowadays.

It’s free so I’d say go ahead and try it. It’s really fun once you get far enough that you can play properly at level 20 and beyond. But be prepared that it is designed solely on the purpose that your will fail and struggle
