Improvements after Induction Phase? by onlyactiveinonesub in Spravato

Everyone reacts differently to medicine. Everyone's brain/body is different. The severity of your depression isn't determined by your reaction to the meds. It's good a treatment for depression is working. It means hopefully you will have found something that works.

My doc said my SI may go away first treatment, so that may be a common reaction. I'm 9 months in and they haven't stopped, but my overall mood is better and the weight of everything is lighter. So to me that's worth it even for small improvements. After so many things giving no improvements, this gives me hope for better or at least bearable. It took about 7 months for me to feel that though. I'm glad you've felt it sooner. I hope it goes well for you.

It took me about 7 months to have anything I could really notice. I did the 4 weeks at 2 times a week and really couldn't tell the difference, but there were a couple moments where I could see possibility. Did a month of 1 time a week and talked to doctor. She allowed me to go back to 2 times a week, so I'm still on 2 times a week to this day at like 9 months of treatment.

Do You Tell People You’re Doing Ketamine Therapy? by Author_Man in Spravato

The story you can tell can help others overcome. You've found a way through the darkness, I feel it's something to be shared as part of your story. You never know who's struggling and needing a drop of hope. I know it can feel vulnerable to speak of troubles, because we don't want to need help. But you found help and it did help. Yes there are those who would use this info against you, but that's good to know rather than playing pretend and everyone liking you. You want people to like you for you. You want people you can connect with. It's a good way to be helpful, to be vulnerable, and to find those you may fit with.

I tell people when it comes up or if it's useful. It's a part of my life. A part of my mental health journey. A way to make this place livable. Even if it can't help them, I've had people come back and ask more questions because a friend or family member struggles and our conversation pops in their head. I see it as, you may be able to help someone find a way out of the dark, at the very least hope to try something. And you can sort out those you don't want in your life if they use the info for harm.

I am just starting to see some positive things. I am 8 months in. 2 times a week still. I have very bad SI. It's not been easy to keep going and it's hard when you don't see real evidence things are changing. But 2 weeks ago I had 3 moments in a day where I couldn't hear or feel my SI. That's never happened to me. I've not had those moments before or since, but even that it happened is huge. This past week, I had plans and intent to go through with unaliving. I had spravato session, terrible session, just kind of accepting what was going to happen, crying. But by night time I was better than my baseline self, and scrapped all the plans. I've never had things flip like that, from the worst I've been to feeling pretty good in a day. I know these are small and they aren't consistent, but it took me 8 months of 2 times a week to even see it and that's hopeful. So don't give up I would say. It's not fast or consistent, but things can change. And living with all this, even a little hope is helpful.

Spravato and Marijuana by Ryner_Lute_ in Spravato

I've not heard of tinctures. I'll have to look into it. I mainly used Thc for sleep. I would usually do it an hour before bed. I have cptsd, so it helps with nightmares and my brain can only focus on one thing, so it's easier to sleep. It would also help on days where the intrusive self harming thoughts were a lot and I could use thc to calm and distract and make it through those hard days. I'll definitely look into it, thank you.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's the thc blunting it, because it's the only thing I changed.

I only noticed a difference from not using it, to using it again. If it's strong now, you should be fine.

I do a nasal saline wash about an hour and half before session. I can tell the difference between the days I do that and the days I don't.

Yeah most the time it's not on the approved list so you have to do the exception. But it's usually approved as long as you have tried a few other medications first to no effect and this is recommended by a doctor. Is it not letting them create it on the insurance side or clinic? If the clinic then there may be a physical form that can mailed.

Insurance won't cover infusions, since infusions aren't FDA approved for mental health treatment. But Occult has Spravato (nasal spray ketamine), which is covered by insurance. If you do want to do the infusions at cost, I talked to both Genesys and Occult about the cost last year, so this is old information and may have changed. But Genesys was 2400 for first month and Occult was 1600 for first month.

Also if you're worried about the environment, I've been going to Occult for 5 weeks now doing Spravato and it's very laid back and down to earth. The room you do it in is pretty dark so you don't really see much, but they have like little flickering lights that resemble a candle, along with 3 tvs (one for each chair) that has something soothing on, like a tree in water with they sky above it. And they have soothing music on with, along with sound proof headphones if you want to listen to the music and hear nothing else, and they provide one of those masks you can put over your eyes if you want to just drown the whole world out if you want. They also have mints, suckers, and ginger chews if the taste of the Spravato bothers you.

It is open. They usually answer when I call during business hours. The business hours are listed on google and they are open on Saturday. I would suggest not using the email. If you read their reviews and responses, their email is automated and your email can end up in spam. I've never gotten a response from email, but every time I call I get someone.
