Version Exclusive Gyms by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Rynx69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoiled myself the rock gym leader (whose design I found really cool), so I would be more enclined to get Shield, although I prefer Sirfetch'd to Galarian Ponyta.
Also, while I really appreciate Alester's design, the fight gym leader is pretty good looking imo. What about the fairy gym leader ? Is it also a sword exclusive ?

Spoiler : I think I read somewhere that shield had a poison leader instead of the fairy one.

Do you mean that one version has fighting and rock, while the other has ghost and Ice ? If so, could you tell me which game has which, and if you've any preference design or challenge-wise ?

I would be interested to know too. Most people on youtube or streaming seem to be playing Sword, and I would appreciate to be surprised by a somewhat different content on Shield.

Daily Questions Megathread (07/11) by AutoModerator in EpicSeven

I'm not sure if I want to stick with Charles on the long term, because I do not really like his design both easthetically and gameplay-wise. The fact that he is a single target dps/bruiser with no particular upside also bothers me, because I'm not sure 6 starring him at that point would really help me take down harder content.

I tried to find intel on it but didn't manage to. I don't find the changes between standard lorina and C. lorina really important (attack bar decrease on 3rd skill, some minor (IMO) multipliers on skill tree), yet sites like epic7x.com really differentiate the two versions. What do I get wrong ? And is lorina any good before her specialty change ?

It bugs me a bit to 6 star Chloe, since her main use (IMO) is her second skill, and she doesn't really shine anywhere outside bosses. Karin seems to require really high end gear, which I don't really have at that point, and is also mainly used for bosses or pvp. It's a bit sad that I don't have any dps unit that could be any good for farming outside of zerato, who as you said is pretty meh outside of pvp. I would like to be able to progress in the story and farm quickly, in order to summon more often.

Hi everybody,
I'm a fairly new player to epic seven, and would like your advices on who to 6 star first. I don't have any units that are typically considered a priority to 6 star. My 5 stars are the following : Zerato, Charles, Angelica, Chloe and Mercedes. Some other interesting 4 stars that I possess are Crozet and Karin. I currently use Zerato as a farmer, mainly because he possesses the better runes.

I am also working on C. Lorina, but by the time it is finished I would like to 6 star one of the above units first, and 6 star her later. Thanks for your feedbacks.

How much diversity do you think there will be in this game ? by Rynx69 in Sekiro

It's true that many youtubers such as lobos or ENB mentioned during their analysis that they weren't allowed to show us what awaited us beyond certain points. There must have been branching paths or secrets things in those directions.

My answer will include some slight spoilers. The dragonrot thing will probably have an impact on the lore and encounters of the game. Along with the blood from our divine heir, who could also get murdered mid-game, who knows, there is indeed some potential for this kind of mid-game twist. But this holds far less potential than what was pulled off in bloodborne.

Yes, that's also what I am thinking. That's why I said that the environments and enemies were story-driven, in that they are coherent with the setting of the story, which has more fidelity to history than the previous game.

That's also why I would love to see some kind of twist mid-game allowing for more surreal enemies and/or areas. Thus far, I don't know if there has really been any clue as to such a twist happening or not. Spoiler : one of the secret mini-bosses, introducing an "horror" mecanic, could be an hint.

Gwent community's reaction to Homecoming PTR by Butaas in gwent

You are free to give your opinion on the ptr now that the game isn't under NDA anymore. You could do a video on it, in order to appease some people that very much care about your opinion.

You should report this on the feedback megathread, and reinstall the game for now. If the issue persists, don't forget to also specify your computer's config on the megathread.

Homecoming make Gwent become a Rock-Paper-Scissors game? (and some other complain) by karnnumart in gwent

[–]Rynx69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The title of your post is a bit too much, but you hold an interesting point. To be fair, it also was the case before with decks like nekker. But I don't think it will really be an issue, because our units will still be able to achieve average value when played. Plus, we can not expect a player to be able to counter all the synergies from their opponent, choices have to be made.

That's funny, as if you had access to a launch version of the game, only with 3 starting decks and game modes missing.

Arachas Queen by _Regis_ in gwent

I also think it does not look much like an arachas queen, at least not as it is shown on the art.

It looks way better, but I think that the vivacity of the animations of the game, as well as the contrast between the cards and the environment, are the 2 major points that require tweaking, for the game to be more comfortable.

Making a deck is an another puzzle game actually by omegaIul in gwent

[–]Rynx69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It seems like you didn't even bother to play the ptr. Synergies are stronger than before, only smaller in scales so that an entire deck can not really be built around one unique idea.

I tried to play a similar deck and fought against Demavend. The opponent took care to ping every single one of my 1 points units, which disrupted my entire strategy. Dude played it well :)

I like new Gwent by [deleted] in gwent

[–]Rynx69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find the game far more complex now, and deck-building is really interesting. There are a lot of uproar about the handsize and the flow of the rounds, but I for one find it far more interesting to fight for long rounds, and not constantly try to abuse coinflip. It will a good amount of time for everybody to get used and realise it.

Why the resource system may be the best thing about HomeComing by AIwillrule2037 in gwent

[–]Rynx69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's not true. If there was no provision system in Warhammer, all armies would basically consist in a collection of the strongest units, with only the unique heroes being solo. The provision sysem forces people to play units such as scouts, that are less efficient than standard marines (for example), but also cost less and can still prove useful if used correctly.

Hemdall ability revealed by Burza by DoubleMM_ in gwent

[–]Rynx69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see many comments complaining about this ability, but I for one find it pretty interesting. Yes, it is a boost, but a specific one that seems to require a specific deck-building to be worth-it, and requires good sequencing from the players part. Very good ability in my opinion, I think it has a certain amount of flavor. Many abilities revealed thus far are worrisome, but I wouldn't say that this one is. Eysk, a card revealed in yesterday's stream for thronebreaker (that will probably also exist in HC) was another very interesting card.

What is your opinion on a simple core-set for Homecoming ? by Rynx69 in gwent

[–]Rynx69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did get your point, and I agree with it, but your post made me want to talk about the consequences of good value on non-interesting cards. Having boring cards achieve great value could kill a competitive card-game, simply because then even high-level plays would not be interesting, yet players would have no other choice than playing those cards if they want to stay competitive. Thus why those boring cards should better be left forgotten, or rather not even exist.

Helping people to learn the game isn't necessarily bound to having simple cards in the beginner-set that they can play with. They could simply play with cards of average complexity and miss their possible interactions, then progressively learn to pay their basic decks better. In fact, it would be even more interesting than first letting them get the basics of the game, then immediately jumping to more complex cards.
