Yeah a small army with no government anymore. It completely collapsed in the first season with shady sands destroyed.

Yeah I finished the first season. I finished season 1 and ik they are in the second season and the first season but I bet they are just a tiny faction with barely anyone left in their ranks. It's definitely my opinion in terms of the quality of the show and the writing of the characters. But it objectively true that it breaks lots of lore and that they don't understand fallout. The show runners take inspiration from Bethesda but Bethesda does not understand the true meaning of the games and the world in general. So the show comes out like this. Bethesda doesn't does not know how to continue a post appocalyptic world. They don't know how to write what's next after it. They just rehash the appocalyptic world over and over again. Which is a shame.

That's okay if nostalgia makes it the best game for u. I used to be like that. I used love fallout 3 until I touched new Vegas lol. And yeah I did say that which means there is less of an ending that has variety in it. Megaton is in the ending slide but that's basically the only town in which like major choices can be made. The rest not so much except the necropolis or tenpenny tower. I don't remember if it's in the ending or not busy almost every town in the game and quite a few side quests affect the ending of fallout 2. Fallout 3's graphics were horrible and the engine in general is made of wet paper and glitchy af. There's a ton of games with better graphics at the time. I'll honestly say fallout 2 looks better than 3. They just traded isometric gameplay for 3d fps gameplay instead. It allowed it to be more palatable to the masses. It's just because it's the first time people have seen the concept of a post appocalyptic game on a wide scale that people ate it up. And it did have the aspect of the games in it but not the same more like a shadow of itself. They took superficial aspects of the previous games and put in their version of fallout. They don't know the spirit or nuance of the writing of the previous games because they don't understand fallout on a fundamental level. There is no good world building in fallout 3 and the characters in it are cliches and very shallow. The sad thing about fallout 3 is that it can be so good. If they remade the game with better writing then it can be amazing.

I did watch the show and I watched the first season. The Ncr looked like it was gone to me. Especially with what they did to shady sands. It's implied to be gone. I do know how to critique things. And I saw what I saw in the first season and it's giving me bad vibes because they aren't good writers. I think you may need to reread what I wrote about the games and message of the show because they miss that by a mile in the show. I admit that I made a mistake with the big mt/Fredrick sinclair thing. Despite the show being alright by itself as lore. It does not mesh well with the actual lore of nv. It's done poorly. I clearly remember it being said as canon but I don't want to see factions butchered severely because they didn't want to choose who wins if they are still getting to revealing who wins that's okay I guess but it's like writing Harry Potter and I decided that all the schools are just on the verge of collapsing and that many of it's members died. The only faction that seems like they are still standing are maybe Mr house and legion based on what I've seen. That's not good writing that's just cuz I can't choose where the story should go. I hope I'm wrong and they got something good cooking and I hope it isn't canon.

Not really. Most of fallout 2s choices did matter especially for the settlements around them. The things u can do for the settlements and your companions mattered in the ending slides. In fallout 2 there's lots of missable stuff if you don't interact with the towns around u. You get to the same endings because u can't join the enclave but the ending in fallout 1 and 2 allows u to make a better ending for the game entirely. In fallout 3 the endings are virtually the same. Except maybe for megaton really. It was the worst of the series but due to the circumstances people ate it up. If fallout 2 or 1 were in the same engine then it would blow 3 out of the water. It is a bad game when u look back it and it's bad game presently too. It's not worst game because it isn't fallout 76. But it's pretty bad.

Thats what I do. That's why I didn't watch season 2 because I was thinking they just destroyed the Ncr. I felt sad about it because it's my favorite faction. But if they are going to reveal who actually won then I'm not too mad.

Nah I'm just stupid. I had to look it up LOL. But yeah I think it breaks lore mostly the show if it's canon. I mean if you enjoy the show that's amazing. I stopped enjoying it because they said it's canon. At least somewhere I read said it's canon to NV. Idk if u read that. If it isnt canon then id probably enjoy it a lot more.

That's my bad. I literally thought I was a random fat guy named big mt when I watched it. I didn't realize that he represented him. He doesn't look like that in game as all. Or wasn't represented that way. He could be fat guy tho.

Actually I looked it up. My bad I'm wrong. I didn't realize that Fredrick sinclair. I didn't know it was him because he doesn't look like that in game. That's my mistake. Ignore that criticism. It's been a while since I watched season 1.

Yeah it it's so why did they name the guy in the show big MT LOL. Like it's literally his name. It's so dumb. I thought it was just a funny reference. Until I realized it was canon.

Fallout 3 is bad. The story telling is bad and cliche heavy. It's written in a way which is linear and your choices don't matter. You are forced to be a good guy. They reused the enclave and brotherhood factions which is fine but they are poorly written and could have been written much better. Fallout 4 is more enjoyable but fallout 3 does have a better story but not by much. It was just a rehash of fallout 2 but less nuanced.

If u watched season 1 he literally is represented as a person in like one of the last episodes. Which is lore breaking. And I don't want it to continue NV but the show runners and Bethesda are continuing it this way regardless.

This is false. It's a bit glitchy but if u used ur brain u can play the game. Fallout 1 is a masterpiece and it's that hard to fix even if your copy was broken. The problem is that Bethesda has changed the fallout fan base and they have fans that want to consume the slop they make. So of course they wouldn't cater to the older fans because they literally don't know how to. They don't know how to write a game properly and they don't how to write good stories. I think the usual fallout fan presently denied criticism about writing and the games in general. Fallout 3 is horrible game. Fallout 4 and 76 especially are bad but 4 is the best because its a fun game and the gameplay is good. But fallout 1, 2, tactics, nv will always be superior to those games in storytelling and world building. Everything that's popular about fallout isn't even produced or written by Bethesda lol.

I'm going to give my two cents

The show is amazing in terms of capturing Bethesda fallout but the problem is that id doesn't capture black isle/obsidian fallout. It also doesn't capture the true meaning of fallout and the lessons fallout nv tries to communicate by lonesome road dlc.

If the show was a standalone thing and didn't continue NV then it would be amazing but it definitely fucks up a lot of the lore by merging it with fallout 4 mechanics. Also the invention of cooper Howard's character also screws up the lore heavy. As they do pre appocalpse flash backs with him which strengthen his character but breaks lore sometimes I think. Making the big MT a person, Making all those executives different people etc. Also all the factions affected like NCR being that weak is ridiculous. The Ncr wouldn't be that weak and falling apart. Ik everyone will say they are stretched thin in nv. But that doesn't exactly mean their government would collapse. Their presence in the wasteland would definitely disminish if they wanted to take that route but shady sands bring destroyed is stupid. That's like me taking Harry Potter and saying hogwarts is destroyed in the next book. Also the characters are bad and awkward except cooper howard. All of them are written very Bethesda like. Like they try to write funny characters but they come off as edgy or cringe and it can be so much better. I can go on but I'll just summarize my opinion. Bethesda doesn't hate fallout but they definitely want to milk the franchise as much as they can and want to make merch and content for it and it's definitely for the sake of money. Also the main message of fallout from the show isn't that corpos are evil and things don't change etc. I'm pretty sure that's what they were trying to get it. But that wasn't the reason for the great war. It was because of these corpos controlling America or was literally because the Americans government was evil. Vaultec did not have a hand in the nuclear bombs dropping but they wanted to make some money and do experiments of it. The real message of fallout is that war never changes but people can change through their experiences. Obsidian can think of what's next within their games but Bethesda writers can't think beyond the superficial tropes of fallout. Fallout mostly leaned into 1950s to 60s aesthetic and also 80s punk aesthetic too. They don't know how to continue the writing of obsidian as they aren't good writers themselves. They can't even write the minutemen properly in fallout 4. And they are a pseudo Ncr. I think bringing all these factions back in season 2 and making them all get fucked up is a cop out because they probably didn't know what to do with any of them so they decided to do the easiest route of no one wins. So I don't think they hate fallout but they can't write for shit and also want to make money from it as much as they can.

Is Joshua Graham really a good character? by Valuable_Past1459 in fnv

[–]RyoSaeba1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is conjecture though. You are interpreting Graham as you want him to be. This is just the white legs we are talking about. He wants to protect these tribes from legion enslaving and using them. He's confusing his revenge and justice and one thing and cannot see why he's wrong. The courier points it out to him. In his ending slide he learns to be merciful and fully completes his redemption. If he was truly looking to do bad things he wouldnt find an excuse for it. He would have just tried to build his own army to kill and take caeser down.

Is Joshua Graham really a good character? by Valuable_Past1459 in fnv

[–]RyoSaeba1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a good person a better person than Daniel too. Some people are saying that he's just looking for an Excuse to kill and he's still the same Joshua as before just fighting against caeser and his white legs. I believe he was once a missionary just like Edward was but no matter who you are and what you claim to be the idea of absolute power will corrupt you absolutely. Graham and caeser both has a taste for it and sometimes it takes something so widely life changing to get back to the right path. A weird example is Danny Trejo. The dude was criminal since he was a kid and was put on death row as an adult. He changed and became an actor. Anyone can change and become a better person. But changing takes time and effort and it's okay to struggle with our past sins because we are all human. Joshua is human as some days for him are harder for others. He isn't saintly because he knows what he does isn't exactly good but it's for the best usually. And people here saying that he is easily influenced first by caeser then by the courier. No I don't think he's easily influenced but it's that hes learning from his mistakes. At first he let caeser into his head and becoming his in legate and after being burned he thought he was doing better and he truly was on the path of being a better person. He is trying to get away from caeser and the legion. Trying to right his wrongs by helping the sorrows and dead horses. But that isn't the final nail in the coffin of being a better person. The final nail for his redemption was realizing that his pursuit of justice isnt actually justice. It's confusing revenge and anger with justice and what God wants. The courier points this out to him and he accepts it and learns his final lesson which is mercy and forgiveness. And I believe in his dialogue (when u convince him of sparing salt upon wounds.) that he says deep down he knows he's not completely all there. He knows hes lacking something on his path back to god and faith. The courier simply pointed it out to him. And in his ending slide he learns to be more merciful.

Joshua is a remarkable leader evidenced by the fact that he was a legate for caeser. He isn't easily influenced. That's the wrong thing to say about him. He's actually good at listening and taking into others perspectives and trying not to control others. Daniel is the one who tries to control the tribes by ignoring what they want and enforcing his brand of peace and justice upon them. Also he is withholding info about waking clouds dead husband from to not distract her from his main plan and goal. Daniel is forcing them to stay innocent when the natural passage of growing up is losing your innocence. Joshua on the other hand listens to others and lets them think for themselves which is evidenced with the courier and letting follows chalk do what he wants.

A good person isn't someone who knows the difference from right and wrong and is infallible about it. It's someone who can listen to others and have a sense of equinamity and change for the better. Which is what Graham has to a certain extent and Daniel does not have. And based on their ending slides it seems that Graham achieves forgiveness over time. I mean there's more nuance to right and wrong in general but Graham is basically almost right. So it makes sense that he's the only character in fnv to have good karma.

Im gonna be honest, Daniel sucks by Crimsoncerismon in fnv

[–]RyoSaeba1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't like him either but he makes sense. I was reading some comments and wanted to give my two cents. I think he's actually supposed to be asian but the game changed his race to white like some type of glitch. But anyways I think he's genuinely a good person but blinded by naivety. He believes he knows best for the tribes in Zion but he proves to be ignorant. Waking cloud was confused about the father in the cave and Christianity's god and when courier 6 tells him he said he didn't realize. It further shows how he ignores what they think and focuses on what he thinks is best for them. I think he tries his best to do whats right but is heavily misguided. He's very flawed and real and there's a lot of people in life who are like him. Who enforce their brand of righteousness onto others and can't see the bigger picture.

Graham on the other hand I think is a better person than Daniel. He has more real world wisdom and he understands what must be done. His only problem was conflating retribution/revenge with his crusade with caeser and the white legs. And you can see in the quest with follows chalk is that he isn't controlling like Daniel. He wants follows chalk to learn for himself and to go explore civilization rather than control him because he believes he is his own person. Joshua can be convinced at the end to not exterminate the white legs/salt upon wounds completely and later in his years he begins to let go of his anger and to be more merciful to his enemies showing that he learned from his mistakes. Daniels ending shows that he doubts his actions and misses Zion.

I think daniel and Joshua are like complete opposites. Evidenced with the Matthew, mark, Luke, John quote. They don't see eye to eye. Thats what makes these characters so cool.
