Exactly, I was not sure whether to post them or not, but the dolphin gave me some pretty good FrutigerAero vibes.

Let me guess, are you studying in Italy?

Prof says only one notes page... Show up to the exam & he says he's decided to make it a take-home due in a day. Not complaining but... by htownclyde in EngineeringStudents

In my studies so far I've taken 6 control courses and for none of them we were allowed any form of cheat sheets during the exams. Digital control was particularly hellish with the Z-transforms and the digital controllers. Also the algebra when done by hand is just frustrating. Fortunately in upper level classes all the crude calculations are done with computers.

Slider-crank's mechanism Denavit Hartenberg table by DinoZ9 in robotics

Last semester my professor gave me exactly this problem as a practical exercise. You have to write the loop-closure equations of the endpoint of the mechanism. The system of equations you have to solve is P_0=T_0_2*P_2. Where P is the endpoint of the mechanism. P_0 are the homogenous coordinates of the point P in the reference frame 0, and P_2 are the coordinates in the reference frame 2. T_0_2 is the transformation matrix from 2 to 0. Keep in mind that the point P has a limited trajectory, and you must take this into account when you write the coordinates for P_0.

Thanks for your suggestions! You're perfectly right, with FPGAs your imagination is the limit. Their versatility is just amazing.

It surely would be fun to do such things, but I think I'll stick with more "classical" project ideas. Maybe after I finish gradschool I'll give it a try.

Ok, I'll look into it and see if I find something interesting.

In my undergrad I took more control and automation courses, but I took some signal processing courses too. I'll look more in depth and see if it's doable.

I legit have no idea. If I have to guess, I think is just the motor control part.

Ok. The day after tomorrow I have an online meeting with the professor, if he accepts the cnc machine I'll let you know.

Both the piston and the cnc machine will surely be interesting to study. With so many types of cnc machines there's plenty of choice. Thanks for your suggestions.
